Colt London Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver - Serial no. 1326, 36 cal., 7 1/2 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened/silver finish, walnut grips. The Colt London Model was manufactured from 1853 to 1856, with this example manufactured in 1853. It has the “-ADDRESS COL: COLT. LONDON.-” barrel address, London proof marks on the barrel and cylinder, “COLT’S/PATENT” on the left of the frame, all matching visible serial numbers with an unnumbered wedge, standard cylinder scene, varnished one-piece walnut grip, and rounded head screws. CONDITION: Very good, with smooth gray patina and scattered mild freckling on the iron surfaces, strong traces of original blue finish on the bottom of the barrel, defined cylinder scene and markings, and 30% original silver plated finish remains with lightly aged golden patina on the exposed brass. Grip is also very good with numerous scattered dings and scratches, some minor edge wear, and retains the majority of the original varnish. Mechanically fine. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000

Fine Colt Model 1862 Police Percussion Revolver - Serial no. 18451, 36 cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened/silver finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1863. The Colt Model 1862 Police, known in the period as “Colt’s Police Pistol” and “Colt’s New Model Revolving Police Pistol,” was the last model released during Samuel Colt’s life. Formal police departments were fairly new and just starting to be more common in the U.S. when this model came out. “ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA.” on the top of the barrel, “COLTS/PATENT” on the left of the frame. All matching visible serial numbers on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, butt, wedge, cylinder, cylinder pin and handwritten in black ink inside the grip mortise. CONDITION: Fine, retains 40% original blue finish overall with scattered flaking and smooth brown patina on the balance, 70% plus vivid original case colors with smooth gray patina on the balance, and 60% original silver plated finish. Grip is very fine with most of the original varnish, a few scattered handling marks, and light edge wear on the otherwise defined edges. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750 LOT 1331 Civil War Era Colt Model 1849 Percussion Pocket Revolver with Slim Jim Holster - Serial no. 198808, 31 cal., 6 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1862. The top barrel flat is marked “ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA.”. The left side of the frame is marked “COLTS/PATENT”. The cylinder has the stagecoach hold up scene and “COLTS PATENT/No. 198808”. The complete matching serial number is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back strap while the partial number is also on the wedge, loading lever, and cylinder pin. Includes an unmarked brown leather slim Jim holster. CONDITION: Very good, retains 30% original blue finish concentrated on the barrel flaking to a smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, half of the original case colors with smooth gray patina on the balance, 40% original silver finish with golden aged patina on the exposed brass, a few patches of minor pitting, and sharp markings and edges in the metal overall. Grip is also very good with minor edge wear, a few small chips at the edges, and scattered handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Included holster is fine with light age related wear and some cracking. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500

Colt Model 1855 “Root” Sidehammer Percussion Pocket Revolver with Desirable 4 1/2 Inch Barrel - Serial no. 9579, 31 cal., 4 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. This revolver is the Model 6A variation of the Model 1855 “Root” revolver and was manufactured in 1865. It has a brass post front sight on the two-stage barrel which is marked “ADDRESS COL. COLT/ NEW-YORK U.S.A.” on top at the breech, the stagecoach hold-up scene on the cylinder, matching serial numbers on the bottom of the barrel and butt and the side of the cylinder, and a varnished walnut grip. CONDITION: Fine with 50% original blue finish remaining, smooth brown patina on the balance, and mild marks and scratches mainly at the top of the back strap. The grip is very fine and has most of the original varnish, minor edge wear, and attractive grain. Mechanically fine. Estimate: 1,400 - 2,250

Scarce Cased Transitional Colt Model 1848 Baby Dragoon Percussion Revolver with Loading Lever - Serial no. 13557,

casehardened/silver finish, walnut grips. This revolver was manufactured in 1850 during the transition between the Model 1848 Baby Dragoon and Model 1849 Pocket revolvers. It has the distinctive squareback trigger guard of the earlier model while also featuring the improved rectangular cylinder stops and barrel mounted loading lever rammer typical of the Model 1849 Pocket. The barrel has a post front sight and “-ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW-YORK CITY-” on top and a small loading cutout on the right side of the lug. The five-shot cylinder has the stagecoach hold-up scene and safety pins between each nipple (most are flattened). The frame has the small “COLTS/ PATENT” marking. Matching serial numbers visible on the wedge, cylinder pin, cylinder, loading lever, barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back strap. Includes a fitted walnut case, Colt eagle pocket flask, a 5-count box of cartridges, Eley cap tin, a reproduction dual cavity ball mold, L-shaped combination screwdriver/nipple wrench, and key.
CONDITION: Very good, exhibiting smooth brown patina on the iron with visible cylinder scene and markings, some scattered patches of light pitting, and 85% original silver plating on the trigger guard and grip straps. Grip is fine and has much of the varnish remaining, minor edge wear and some scattered dings. Mechanically fine. The case is very good with mild age and storage related wear, including fading of the interior lining, some contact wear, some light handling marks on the outside of the case, and one absent hinge screw. The accessories are all very good to
fine overall.

Cased British Proofed
Colt Model 1855 “Root” Sidehammer Percussion Pocket Revolver - Serial no. 4840, 31 cal., 4 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. This Model 5A version of the Model 1855 was manufactured
in 1862 and has the two-line New York barrel address, a fluted cylinder with patent marking on one of the flutes, “31 CAL” marked on the right side of the frame, and the barrel and cylinder are stamped with British “crown/V” and “crown/GP” proofs. It comes in a fitted case with an eagle pocket flask, UMC cap tin, 6-count .31 caliber cartridge box, some loose balls, “COLTS/PATENT” marked ball/bullet mold, and key. Given their sleek design which departs heavily from the usual Colt percussion revolvers along with their limited production and several production variations, these revolvers have long been popular with collectors.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 40% plus original blue finish smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, a few patches of light pitting and some light wear areas. The grip is very fine, with some minor edge wear and some scattered light scratches. Mechanically functions, but the hammer needs work. The case and accessories are very good with mild age and storage related wear, including fading of the interior lining, some contact wear, and some light handling marks on the outside of the case.
