Cased Early 19th Century European Stock Reservoir Exposed Lock Air Gun with Pump and Accessories - NSN, 11 mm , 41 inch round bbl., blue/bright finish, metal stock. Air guns of this style were used primarily for hunting. “Wind guns” had several
advantages over conventional firearms including that they were quieter, smokeless, quicker to reload, and relatively unaffected
by rain. They also required less cleaning since they did not require corrosive black powder. This air gun is chambered in approximately .44
caliber/11 mm with a smooth bore, fixed “U” notch rear sight, and a metal buttstock air reservoir wrapped in green leather decorated with gold
tooling at either end. This example features an exposed lock, with a cocking lever that doubles as a hammer for functioning. The gun and case have no
visible markings. Includes a high grade fitted walnut case with green felt lined interior, air pump, ball mold, wad cutter, and key. CONDITION: Fine, retains half of the original
high polish blue finish with areas faded to smooth brown patina on the balance, gray and brown patina on the
iron frame and components with scattered moderate freckling overall. The leather on the buttstock reservoir is also fine with some age related wear, a few scattered areas of light flaking, and defined gold tooling. Mechanically fine. The case is fine with
refinished exterior, some scattered scratches, and light aging of the lining.

  Engraved and Signed Early 19th Century European Stock Reservoir Exposed Lock Air Gun - NSN, 44 , 42 3/ bbl., bright finish, metal stock. “P.J./Parilis/Aix la/Chapelle” (possibly Parifis) signed on the left of the frame surrounded by engraving. No information related to this maker found at the current time. Features high quality floral and border pattern engraving on the frame and iron ends of the leather wrapped buttstock reservoir.    Early 19th Century European Stock Reservoir Exposed Lock Air Gun with Unique Wood Barrel - NSN, 42 , 39 5/8 inch round bbl., bright finish, metal stock. Air guns of this style were used primarily for hunting. “Wind guns” had several advantages over conventional firearms including that they were quieter, smokeless, quicker to reload, and relatively unaffected by rain. They also required less cleaning since they did not require corrosive black powder. This air gun is chambered in approximately .42 caliber/10.5 mm with a smooth bore, fixed notch rear sight, and a metal buttstock air reservoir. This example is also likely of Austrian or German origin and features an exposed lock, with a cocking lever that doubles as a hammer for functioning. The gun has no visible markings. Two circular brass collection tags marked “R.D. BEEMAN/PRIVATE/COLLECTION/459” and “R.D. BEEMAN/PRIVATE/COLLECTION/852” are hanging from the gun. CONDITION: Very good with brown patina and some scattered mild pitting on the iron, scattered scratches and dents on the otherwise very good wood barrel. LOT 1367 Early 19th Century European Stock Reservoir Exposed Lock Air Gun by J. Regina - NSN, 22 , 28 3/4 inch round bbl., bright finish, metal stock. “J. REGINA” maker marked on top of the barrel. No information related to this maker was located at the current time. This exposed lock air gun likely dates to the second half of the 18th century. “Wind guns” had several advantages over conventional firearms including that they were quieter, smokeless, quicker to reload, and relatively unaffected by rain. They also required less cleaning since they did not require corrosive black powder. Features a round barrel chambered in approximately .22 caliber/5.5 mm with a smooth bore, a dovetail mounted blade front sight, fixed notch rear sight on top of the frame, a lock with exposed components, and a leather wrapped metal buttstock air reservoir. Circular brass collection tag
marked “R.D. BEEMAN/PRIVATE/COLLECTION/2080” hanging from the mainspring. CONDITION: Good, with a mix of brown and gray patina on the iron, and clear barrel marking. The leather on the buttstock reservoir is also good with an absent section on the butt and general wear marks and flaking. The air actuating needle is absent, otherwise the lock functions mechanically fine.
