Scarce and Desirable Documented U.S. Marine Corps Colt Model 1909 Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter - Serial no. 26184, 45 Long Colt cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. One of 1,300 revolvers in the 23101-26300 serial number range purchased by the Marine Corps from Colt through the Navy Department beginning in May 1909. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration with .45 Long Colt chambering, 5 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, and checkered walnut stocks. The letter also notes that it was factory inscribed “U.S.M.C. No. 1184” on the butt. The revolver was one of a shipment of 400 sent to the United States Marine Corps Depot Quartermaster in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on November 30, 1909. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, two-line Hartford address and “COLT D.A. 45” on the barrel, “VP” and “3” on the trigger guard, and the “Rampant Colt” backed by a stylized “C” on the side plate. Fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips numbered “26184.” CONDITION: Very good overall, retaining 75% plus original blue finish with scattered handling marks, thinning, a cylinder drag line, and light pitting on the grip frame and top strap. The grips are very fine with dings, handling marks, and otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 5,000 - 8,000

Action Revolver with Factory Letter - Serial no. 925210, 38
Special cal., 6 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. The included
factory letter lists this revolver as chambered in .38 special with a
6 inch barrel, blue finish and type of stocks not listed and furnished
with a short action (writer believes this to be single action features) and a special notation of being “National Match Grade” when sold to the United States Government and shipped to the Transportation Officer at Cleveland ARC in Cleveland Ohio on February 24, 1960 on factory order #9854. Fitted with Patridge blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights as well as checkered walnut target grips. Also included is a hobbyist wooden display case with the Cold “serpentine” logo and information about the revolver on the lid and a fitted interior with a cartridge block and 6 rounds in
the corner.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% original blue finish with limited handling marks, some extremely light muzzle wear, a light cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine.

Excellent U.S. Colt Model 1909 Army Double Action Revolver with Holster - Serial no. 45762, 45 Long Colt cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1911. A majority of the Model 1909 revolvers delivered between May 28, 1909, and September 13, 1911, were shipped to the Philippines. Features a fixed blade front and notch rear sights, the two-line Hartford address, “COLT D.A. 45,”“UNITED STATES PROPERTY,”“P,” and “R.A.C.” on the barrel, “R.A.C.” on the frame and the Rampant Colt backed by a stylized “C” on the side plate. “R.A.C.” is marked on the rear cylinder face. Fitted with a pair of smooth walnut grips with non-match serial numbers on the inside written in pencil (45188 on the left, 43886 on the right). Includes a “G.&K./1917/A.G.” marked M1909 leather holster. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% bright original high polish blue finish with light scattered handling marks, faint spotting, and a cylinder drag line. The re-oiled grips are very fine with signs of sanding. The holster is very fine with supple leather. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: Richard Peters, USMC, Reserves Law Enforcement, a Gentleman. Colt Model 1894 Army Double
Action Revolver with Holster Rig - Serial
no. 100013, 38 Long Colt cal., 6 inch round
bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured
in 1898. Features round blade front and frame
notch rear sights, standard two-line address and
patent marking on top of the barrel, and caliber
designation on the left. The frame, barrel, cylinder,
and butts of both walnut grip panels are stamped
with “R.A.C.” (Rinaldo A. Carr) inspection marks, with
matching serial number “13” on the latch, crane,
frame, and inside of both grip panels. The barrel is
marked “806” and grip frame marked “24” under
the left grip panel. Includes a “ROCK ISLAND/
ARSENAL/1910/T.C.C. marked leather holster,
leather magazine pouch with wooden holder for
twelve rounds, and a leather belt.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 90%
plus bright original blue finish with a light
cylinder drag line, faint spotting, and thinning on the cylinder and grip frame. The grips and lanyard ring are both arsenal upgrades. The holster rig is very fine with minimal handling marks and supple leather.
Mechanically excellent.
