   LOT 1547
Attractive Engraved German Drilling by H. Leue of Berlin - Serial no. 3601, 12/8mm cal., 26 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Heinrich Leue (1837-1897) was a gunsmith in Prussia and recorded some patents for shotgun improvements in Belgium. Some sources indicate that he was the nephew and apprentice of Heinrich Barella. He attained the title of court gun maker (hofbuchsenmacher). This drilling has two full choked 12 gauge barrels with 2 3/4 inch chambers over a single rifle barrel chambered in 8.15x46. The barrel rib is marked “H. LEUE HOFBUCHSENMACHER BERLIN” and is fitted with a blade front and flip
up notch rear sight along with integral claw scope bases. Also equipped with side mounted hammers on back action style lock plates, double triggers, tang mounted selector, and left side underlifter break lever. It has engraving scenes with scroll work ascents and borders including deer on the frame sides, a hunting dog on the left plate, a fox on the right, and a hare on the trigger
guard. It is fitted with a multi-point checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with cheek piece, sling swivels, a serrated buttplate, and an ammunition compartment in the bottom of the butt. The
length of pull is 14 1/2 inches.
CONDITION: Fine. The barrels retain 40% of the original thinned blue finish with primarily a brown patina. The remaining components display a gray patina. There are some minor scratches and minor spotting. The wood is very good with some minor abrasions and small chips. The engraving, markings, and checkering remain crisp. Mechanically fine. Factory Game Scene Engraved Wilhelm Muchler Boxlock Drilling - Serial no. 1678, 16/8x57 gauge, 26 13/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with blade front and flip up rear sight on the matted solid rib, 1930 dated German proofs, 2 1/2 inch chambers designed for an extractor (absent), and choke constrictions of .032/.030 inches. The casehardened boxlock action features a stag and hinds on the left, a roe buck and doe on the right, and leafy scroll on the balance. The gun features double
triggers (front is single set), tang mounted barrel selector, cocking indicators, and Greener style safety. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, engraved cartridge trap, and horn grip cap and buttplate. Length of pull 14 1/8 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 2 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% plus original blue finish, traces of case colors with the balance a fine grey, a few spots on very minor spotting, and minor handling evidence. The wood is very good with some high edge wear, a crack in the triggerguard at the front, couple stress lines at the upper tang, a few dings and scratches, and well-defined checkering. Factory Engraved Nimrod Backaction Hammer Drilling with Scope - Serial no. 39970, 16/8x57 gauge, 23 5/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Beaded blade front and flip-up rear sights along with claw mounts holding a Zeiss Zielklein scope on the matted solid rib, bands of engraving at either shotgun breech, chambers measured 2 3/4 inches with extractor, and choke constrictions of .032/.039 inches. The casehardened back action locks and
receiver display bouquet and scroll engraving and feature rebounding hammers, a tang mounted selector, and double triggers (front is single set). Lightly figured, multi-point
checkered forend and pistol grip stock with shadowline cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and horn grip cap and buttplate. 14 1/4 inch length of pull. Weight 7 lbs. 5 oz. (with scope). CONDITION: Very good overall, retaining 95% plus original blue finish, 20% original case colors mainly in the protected areas, scattered light spotting, some dings in the stock, crack in the
triggerguard, stress line at upper tang, and crisp overall checkering. Scope optics are clear. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,000 - 1,600

Factory Game Scene Engraved Wilhelm Collath Underlever Drilling with Scope - Serial no. 20535, 16/9.3x72R gauge, 25 9/11 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued Excelsior steel barrels with a beaded blade front sight, flip-up rear sight, and right side
offset German style claw mounts holding a Emil Busch Visar 6x scope, shotgun chamber measured 2 1/2 inches, and
choke constriction of .038 inches. The coin finished underlever cocking action displays a red stag and hind on the left, a boar scene on the right,
and another red stag on the triggerguard. The gun features Dual single set triggers, an undermounted selector, cocking indicators, and a tang mounted safety. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with raised cheekpiece, chamois engraved cartridge trap, and horn grip cap and buttplate. Length of pull 13 15/16 inches. Weight 9 lbs. 14 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% plus original blue and coin finishes with light handling evidence. The wood is very good with some dings and scratches and worn but defined checkering. The scope has lost
much of its blue but retains clear optics. Mechanically excellent.

LOT 1551 Factory Game Scene Engraved Gustav Kotte Boxlock Drilling - Serial no. 3552, 16/9.3x72R gauge, 27 11/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Beaded blade front and flip-up rear sights on the matted solid rib, side mounted claw mounts over the right barrel, engraving at either shotgun breech, chambers measured 2 9/16 inches with extractor, and chokes measured .026/.032 inches. The casehardened boxlock action displays stag and grouse scenes on the left and roe deer and rabbits on the right surrounded by scroll. The gun features a single cocking indicator, double triggers (front is single set), tang mounted selector, bushed firing pins for the shotguns, and a Greener style safety. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with shadowline cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, and hard rubber grip cap and buttplate. 13 15/16 inch length of pull. Weight 7 lbs. 8 oz. CONDITION: Very good, retaining 80% original blue finish, traces of case colors with the balance grey, mild handling evidence, and some minor spotting in areas. The wood is good with numerous dings and scratches and worn but well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 900 - 1,400
