Holland & Holland Bolt Action Magazine Rifle with Scope and Case - Serial no. 1316, 375 H& H cal., 23 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured between 1920 and 1939 or 1946 and
1949 per page 335 of “Holland & Holland: ‘The Royal’ Gunmaker” by
Donald Dallas. The barrel is hand cut “HOLLAND & HOLLAND, 98 NEW BOND STREET,
LONDON” at the center and “HOLLAND’S/.375 Magnum” on the right of the chamber. Fitted with ramped beaded blade front and single leaf rear sight as well as a peep sight mounted to the cocking piece. A sling eye is mounted to the underside of the barrel.
The, barrel, back of the rear sight, and the front receiver ring are matted to reduce glare. Mounted atop the action is a Holland & Holland matching number claw mount holding an unmarked scope. The magazine floorplate is marked “4 CARTRIDGES” and the trigger guard is marked with the serial number. Mounted in a multipoint checkered walnut stock with Obendorf magazine, engraved blued steel grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, silver initial escutcheon, and red rubber recoil pad. Includes a canvas and leather trimmed takedown case with “WRH” on the lid. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% professionally reapplied blue finish with a few minor handling marks, some fading to the markings on the magazine floorplate, some
plum coloration in areas of the blue. The wood shows a few light scratches, some high edge wear, and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is good with mild wear and loosened lid. Scope is excellent with clear optics and a crisp reticle.

LOT 1575 Desirable Rigby-Mauser Model 98 Bolt Action Sporting Rifle in .350 Express with Scope - Serial no. 4603, .350 Express cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Built by J. Rigby & Co. on a commercial Mauser-Oberndorf Model 98 action with a square rear bridge. The blued barrel features a hooded ramped beaded blade sight, under barrel sling stud, two folding position and one fixed island rear sights, “JOHN RIGBY & CO. 72. ST. JAMES’S ST. LONDON.” in script ahead of the rear sight. The left side of the receiver ring and bolt are marked with “crown/B,” “crown/U,” and “crown/V” proofs, while the top of the receiver ring is marked “350 EX.” With matching serial numbers on the trigger guard, bolt handle, and rear scope ring, with “03” partial numbers on the takedown lever and flag safety. Fitted with a multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with horn grip cap, rear sling stud, and ribbed steel trapdoor buttplate. Includes a John Rigby & Co. address marked scope (clear optics) likely of German origin and leather scope covers. CONDITION: Excellent overall as professionally refinished, retaining 99% blue finish with minimal handling marks and light spotting at the muzzle. The stock is very fine with a few dents and bruising to the otherwise crisp checkering. Scope has slightly hazy optics. Mechanically excellent.
