CONDITION: Good. The revolver has a mottled gray patina
with scattered minor pitting. The trigger guard shows traces of original silver plating in protected areas with an aged patina
on the balance of the brass. The grip is also good, with wear on the lower edges and a few scattered minor handling marks. The barrel address, frame marking, and serial numbers are clear. The action is fine. B) Colt “Fluck” Dragoon Percussion Revolver - Serial no. 2942, 44 percussion cal., 7 1/2 inch part octagon bbl., blue/casehardened/silver finish, walnut grips. Described in “A” with no “C.C.” on the butt and with the complete matching serial number on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and cylinder, withthe partial serial number “942” on the wedge and cylinder pin. “22” is stamped on the loading lever.
CONDITION: Good. The revolver has a brownish gray patina with scattered minor pitting. The trigger guard and back strap have an aged patina. The grip is fair with heavy wear on the lower edges and a portion of the toe absent. The markings are legible. The action is fine. This rare pair of true consecutively serial numbered U.S. “Fluck” Dragoons would make a perfect addition to any Colt or early U.S. martial collection, and is the perfect fit to be displayed along side a Cavalrymans pommel holsters. As originally issued during the Mexican-America War.

Scarce Yellow Piped U.S. Dragoon/Cavalry Officer’s Pommel Holsters - This pair of holster is very similar to those owned by Maj. Gen. John Sedgwick when he was killed at Spotsylvania Court House in the West Point Museum Collection and shown on page 122 of “Civil War Collector’s Encyclopedia” by Lord. Somewhat similar sets are also shown in “Packing Iron” by Rattenbury. They are made of black leather with yellow colored piping and brass caps. There are six-round cartridge boxes fitted at the top of each holster with their own flap.
CONDITION: Very fine with nice leather, some crackling, strong yellow, and pretty minor overall wear.
