Signed, Engraved, and Gold Inlaid Fausti 28

Shotgun - Serial no. B54642, 28 gauge, 28 inch solid
rib bbl., blue/gold finish, walnut stock. Fausti was originally
founded by Stefano Fausti in 1948, the firm has always focused on high quality sporting arms. The company is now run by
Stefano’s three daughters, who have continued to build the company’s reputation and moved in the direction of creating
highly decorated pieces of artwork such as this gun. The gun features blued steel barrels with a single brass bead sight on
the finely matted solid rib, “Fausti ITALY” signed in gold on the left chamber, bands of engraving at the breech, import mark
under the forend, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The blued sideplated boxlock action displays highly
attractive gold inlaid floral scrollwork extending to the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs, the bottom of which has
the serial number also inlaid in gold. The piece is signed on the triggerplate “STUDIO MORGHEN”, the studio of Italian Master
Engraver Giocomo Beffa who has carried out the factory “theme 7” gold inlays. The gun features a single non-selective trigger and a
manual tang mounted safety. The well-figured, multi-point checkered forend displays blued fittings with more fine gold inlay work and the straight grip stock features a checkered butt. Includes a factory takedown case and test target. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed at 13.9mm (.547 inches) and measured .549 inches; choke constriction .004/.021 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 13/16 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 6 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent. Don’t miss out on this beautiful modern Italian work of art!
