Documented 1941 Production World War
II U.S. Colt Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic
Pistol with Factory Letter - Serial no. 748401,
45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized
finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1941, the
Robert Sears inspected Colts marked the transition point from
Colt’s high polish blue to the parkerization treatment that would become the
standard for the rest of the war, with this example having received the parkerized
finish. The included factory letter confirms the
current configuration, with the finish correctly listed
as “blue” and grips not listed, as well as shipment to
Springfield Armory on 7 November 1941. The left
side of the matching numbered slide has the two-
line, two-block, patent dates and address with the
Rampant Colt between, and the right side of the slide
is correctly devoid of markings. The right side of the
frame has the U.S. property marking, serial number,
and model designation, with “60” on the trigger guard.
The left side of the frame has the boxed “R.S.” Robert Sears
inspection mark, “P” proof, and “4” over “VP” proof on the
trigger guard. The top of the slide also has a “P” proof. The
full blue barrel is marked “P” on the left of the lug and
“COLT 45 AUTO” on the lower left. Fitted with blade and
notch sights, wide checkered hammer, short checkered
trigger, long grip safety, replacement arched checkered
mainspring housing with a lanyard loop, an unmarked
two-tone magazine, and correct non-reinforced
checkered grips.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original parkerized finish with some very light edge wear. The grips are very fine with a few scattered light blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Outstanding Late World War II U.S. Remington-Rand Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box - Serial no. 2445996, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1945, this is an outstanding example of a Remington- Rand 1911A1. The left side of the slide is marked with the correct style two-line “REMINGTON RAND INC./SYRACUSE, N.Y.U.S.A.” address and a “P” on top.
The left side of the frame has the “FJA”
inspection mark and “P” below the
magazine release. The standard U.S.
property, serial number, and model
designation are marked on the right
side. The full blue barrel is marked “P” on
the left of the lug and “HS” on the right.
It is fitted with blade and notch sights,
serrated slide release, checkered thumb safety and narrow hammer, short stamped trigger, serrated mainspring housing, checkered Keyes Fiber grips, and a “G” marked full- blue magazine. Includes a correct pattern Remington-Rand marked Kraft style box non-factory hand numbered to the gun and an extra modern made replacement magazine. CONDITION: Excellent plus, as issued, retains 99% plus
of the original parkerized finish with only the slightest
handling/takedown marks. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with some mild wear and one torn corner of the lid. If you’re in search of a high condition Remington- Rand 1911A1 for your collection, look no further!

no. 242723, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue
finish, walnut grips. This is a very fine example of
a restored World War I U.S. Army contract Model
1911 pistol manufactured by the Colt in early 1918. This pistol was manufactured with the new late style block letter markings without serifs. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration, grips not listed, as well as shipment to Springfield Armory on 26 February 1918. The left side of the slide has the standard Colt factory two-line, two-block markings with the Rampant Colt behind the slide serrations. The right side is marked “MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY.” The left side of the frame
is remarked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” and has the re-stamped circled “JMG” proof of J.M. Gilbert above the magazine release, and the right side is stamped with the serial number. The blued barrel has “H” and “P” proof marks on the chamber hood. It is fitted with a checkered wide hammer, flat mainspring housing, checkered slide stop, checkered thumb safety, a pair of diamond pattern checkered walnut grips, and an unmarked two-tone magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 99% plus of the professionally restored brushed blue finish with only the slightest handling marks. The grips are also very fine with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. An attractive, professionally restored example of a 1918 production, World War I U.S. Colt Model 1911 pistol!

inch round bbl., blue
finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured in
1942 with standard
markings as well as the
rare and desirable “U.S.
PROPERTY” marking
on the right side of the
frame. It is fitted with
blade front and flat top notch rear
sights, and checkered grips with Colt
medallions. This pistols serial number
falls between two identified General
Officer’s pistols, serial numbers
136383 and 136546. Includes an
original, matching numbered Kraft
box hand marked “C. PATTERSON” and “PATTERSON” on the lid and an extra magazine. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original blue finish with a few scattered patches
of light spotting and a few scattered light handling marks. The grips are excellent with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is good with moderate wear and some spots of edge separation.
