The pistol grip stock is of the same quality with tear drop carved drop points, blank gold inscription oval, and a checkered bare butt. Included is an oak & leather takedown case with factory trade label containing a set of cleaning tools, nickel oiler, two nickel snap caps, and a set of three turnscrews. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed at 15.8mm (.622 inches) and measured .625/.624 inches; choke constriction .005/.001 inches; minimum wall thickness .035/.035 inches; 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 2 3/16 inch drop at heel; 14 13/16 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs. 8 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence and a few small scratches. The wood is also excellent and shows only a few tiny scratches and sharp checkering. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent. A chance to own an extraordinary gun from one of England’s premier gun makers!
