CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. The revolver retains 98% plus of the original vibrant case colors, 80% plus of the original blue finish and lightly aged silver plating. The small amounts of finish loss are almost exclusively the result of age from resting in a case and mainly consists of some minor flaking. The flaked areas of the barrel and cylinder display a smooth brown and gray patina. The cylinder also has mild drag lines and flattened safety pins but does not appear to have actually been fired. The grip is also exceptionally fine and retains nearly all of the glossy original piano varnish and displays attractive figure and minimal light handling and
storage marks. Mechanically excellent. The case
and accessories are also extremely fine; the mold, flask, and combination tool retain nearly all of their original finished and have minimal light storage wear. This is a fantastic piece of Colt firearms history presented by the factory to the president of the Phoenix Fire Insurance Company in Hartford. Provenance: The Arnold Chernoff Collection; The Eric Vaule Collection;
The Chester P. Bonoff Collection;
The Dr. Edward Feldman Collection;
The Greg Lampe Collection.
Estimate: 60,000 - 90,000
