Factory Master Stefano Muffolini Engraved Luciano Bosis Titanium Sidelock Over/Under Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 539, 12 gauge, 28 1/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Luciano Bosis got his start in gunmaking with Galesi and Perazzi before setting out on his own in 1977. Since then he has created some of the finest guns to come out of Italy and has built a reputation for excellence, and this fine gun is no exception. Built with blued steel chopperlump barrels featuring a single nickel bead sight on the matted flat solid rib, “LUCIANO BOSIS - BRESCIA - ITALY” marked on the left of the upper tube, light engraved border around the upper chamber and breech, import mark on the lower tube under the forend, and 2009 dated Italian proofs showing 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a highly attractive coin finished and well tuned sidelock action which displays exceptional deeply cut broad leafy scroll engraving and floral bouquets over a darkened background creating a fine contrast. The engraving surrounds a “L. BOSIS” signature banner on the left lockplate, a “TITANIUM” banner on the right, and a crest showing a pair of rampant lions over “E. SCARAVELLI/BRESCIA” on the underside, a retailer mark for Armeria Scaravelli Emilio, a famous gun shop in Brescia. The engraving then continues onto the toplever which has a gold inlaid coronet, the triggerguard, and both tangs with the lower showing the serial number in gold. The triggerplate is signed to the right of the triggerguard “MUFFOLINI” for Italian Master Engraver Stefano Muffolini. The gun features a single trigger and a tang mounted manual safety.
