Inlaid, and Game Scene Engraved Perazzi
SCO/C Over/Under Shotgun Two Barrel
Set with Case - Serial no. 71466, 12 gauge, 28
inch vent rib bbl., blue/coin/gold finish, walnut
stock. Perazzi is know for some of the finest
sporting guns in the world, and this beautiful
piece showcases that not only can they build
an outstanding tool, but also a piece of art.
Built with blued steel barrels featuring white
front and steel mid-bead sights on the matted
vent rib, standard Perazzi markings ahead of
the upper chamber, interchangeable chokes
(improved modified/modified installed), and
1991 dated Italian proofs showing 2 3/4 inch
chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels
are fitted to a gorgeous coin finished boxlock
action with hand detachable sideplates and displays masterfully executed floral scroll engraving surrounding “-GA- GOLD” inlaid in gold on the underside as well as three fantastic highly detailed gold inlaid game scenes. The scenes depict a flock of five mallards coming in to land on the water on the
left sideplate, the underside has the flock taking off from the water, and
the right shows the flock then flying off away from the water illustrating a
complete circle. The engraving was executed by highly renowned Italian
Master Engraver Angelo Galeazzi, who has signed the
left sideplate simply “Galeazzi”. The gun features
a single selective trigger and a tang mounted
manual safety with gold inlaid “BLOCCATO/S”.
The gun is mounted with an exceptionally
well-figured and extensively multi-point
checkered forend with engraved fittings
and a pistol grip stock with right hand palm
swell and leather faced recoil pad. Includes a
second matched set of 29 1/4 inch barrels with
interchangeable chokes (improved cylinder/
skeet 1 installed) and 2 3/4 inch chambers with
automatic ejectors and a factory takedown
case which houses just one of the barrel sets
and the action. Also included is a letter from Karl C. Lippard of The
First National Gun Banque stating the gun was built as a presentation
piece to Mr. Dan Bonillas from Daniele Perazzi himself, who selected the wood and pattern to be used. The gun was later sold and the stock was reconfigured to the current specifications for a previous owner. Barrel measurements for the extra set (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed at 18.4mm (.724 inches) and measured .725/.727 inches; minimum wall thickness .036/.038 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed at 18.4mm (.724 inches) and measured .726 inches; minimum wall thickness .035/.037 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 1 7/8 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 7 lbs. 13 oz.
