Serial no. 41791, 38 Colt auto cal., 6 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1923, this is a benchmark example of a Colt Model 1902 Military pistol in incredible, near new condition. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration, grips not listed, and shipment to H&D Folsom Arms Company in New York on 1 February 1923. It exhibits the late production high polish grey-blue finish and spurred hammer which was standard on the model by approximately serial number 37000. The right side of the slide has the two-line caliber marking, “AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS”. The left side of the frame has the serial number and “T” over “VP” on the left of the trigger guard. It is fitted with blade and rounded top notch sights, a lanyard swivel on the lower left of the grip frame, checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colts and “COLT” banners, and a full blue magazine marked “CAL. 38/COLT” on the baseplate. Includes the original box.
CONDITION: Excellent plus, retains 99% plus of the original blue finish and 98% plus of the vibrant original case colors with only the slightest handling marks. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine with some moderate tears and absent pieces on the side opposite the label, otherwise mild wear. If you have been in search of a high condition Colt Model 1902 Military pistol for your collection, you almost certainly will not find better than this!
