LOT 3569 Factory Engraved Otto Seelig Drilling with Zeiss Scope - Serial no. 4278, 16 gauge, 25 1/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a beaded blade front sight with flip-up moon bead, two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear sight, German style claw mounts holding a period Zeiss scope, and chambers with a single extractor. The shotgun barrel features a chamber which measures 2 3/4 inches and a choke constriction of .038 inches. The barrels are fitted to an attractive casehardened bolstered scalloped boxlock action which displays tight scroll engraving on all sides and extending onto the toplever and
upper tang. The gun features double single set triggers, cocking indicators, a Greener style safety, and a tang mounted selector. The gun is mounted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered Schnabel forend with engraved fittings and a pistol grip stock with horn inlaid drop points, shadowline cheekpiece, blued cartridge trap with an engraved
adelskrone (duke’s coronet), and horn grip cap and buttplate. Included is a letter of valuation from the late George Douglass of Coast to Coast Guns in which he states the rifle is chambered for the 10.75x53 cartridge. Also includes an unrelated set of custom 6.5mm Bastard dies. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% professionally reapplied blue finish, traces of original case colors with the balance a fine grey, and scattered minor handling evidence. There is a tiny crack off the upper tang, otherwise the wood is also very fine with a few light marks and sharp checkering. Scope optics clear. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 5,000

Factory Game Scene Engraved J.P. Sauer & Sohn Model 3000 Lux Drilling with Scope - Serial no. 905218, 16/7x57 R gauge, 23 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Beaded blade front sight, flip-up notch rear sight, and German style claw mounts holding a Dolomit 4x36mm scope on the matted solid rib, 1956 dated German proofs, import mark under forend, bands of engraving around the breech, and chambers with extractors. The shotgun barrels have 2 3/4 inch chambers and choke constrictions of .019/.025 inches. The coin gray receiver is engraved with light scrollwork, a roe buck on the left, and a boar on the right. The gun features cocking indicators, dual triggers (front is a single set), tang mounted selector switch, and Greener style safety. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch
release and pistol grip stock with plastic grip cap and a Pachmayr recoil pad. Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 15 oz. (with scope). CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 95% original blue finish, 95% plus original coin finish, some dried grease and dark spots on the action, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the wood. The shotgun barrel has a 2 3/4 inch chamber and choke constriction of .034 inches. The coin finish action displays scroll engraving and features dual triggers (front is single set), cocking indicators, and a tang mounted manual safety. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered three-piece forend and pistol grip stock with raised cheekpiece, rear sling swivel, rubber recoil pad, and carved flats, band near butt, and pistol grip base. The coin finished sideclipped boxlock action displays light scroll engraving, a roe buck on the left side, and a fox on the right and features a Greener style safety, cocking indicators, double triggers (front is single set), and tang mounted selector. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered non-matching numbered forend and pistol grip stock with raised cheekpiece, black grip cap, rear sling swivel, and factory buttplate. Length of pull 14 3/8 inches. Weight 6 lbs. 14 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% original blue and coin finishes with light handling evidence and some scattered minor spotting.
