wedges of floral scroll engraving on either side of the breech encompassing the standard Remington barrel markings, 2 3/4 inch chamber, and Briley choke tube system (improved modified installed). The barrel is mated to a blued receiver which shows more of the beautifully cut floral scroll engraving over a punch-dot background surrounding six separate relief gold inlaid game scenes as well as a hand cut serial number and “Remington MODEL 1100-F” on the left. The game scenes consist of a mallard in a pond scene, a pair of pointers in a field, and a woodcock in a forest on the right, and a pheasant over a field, a pair of pointers in a field, and a grouse in flight on the left side. There is also a non-gold inlaid bust of a setter on the triggerguard. The work is signed on the left side below the dogs “RPR 73” for Remington Master Engraver Robert Phoenix Runge who presumably completed the gun in 1973. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with a white diamond inlaid on the grip cap, a blank gold inscription oval, and a Pachmayr Old English recoil pad. Includes an aluminum takedown case and two extra choke tubes (skeet and light modified). Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/16 inch length of pull; weight 8 lbs. 1 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes with minor handling evidence, a few tiny pressure marks on the stock, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Shotgun - Serial no. WFTEXP1, 410 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue/gold finish, deluxe checkered walnut stock. Manufactured for Winchester by Miroku in Japan on a limited basis with this particular gun being the first of a pre-production experimental run of what would become a full run of only 850 guns, thus this gun bears the serial number “WFTEXP1”. The gun was previously listed as having been given as a gift to well- known collectors Peter and Patty Murray in 1997 from the then president of U.S. Repeating Arms Co./Browning. Built with a blued steel barrel featuring a single white bead sight on the matted vent rib, Winchester markings on the left of the barrel with import mark opposite, choke marked “FULL”, and a 3 inch chamber. The barrel is mated to the blued action which displays extensive scroll engraving on either side with gold wire inlaid borders. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured forend with double diamond checkering and a pistol grip stock with multi-point checkered wrist, blued steel grip cap, and a checkered factory buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 11 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes with limited handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend.
