CONDITION: Excellent, nearly as issued. 98% plus of the original blue and vivid casehardened finish remains. Feathering remains visible
to the sides of the front sight, barrel lug, and back strap, and the
case colors are notably vibrant. The brass has a lightly aged patina.
The revolver only exhibits very minor age and storage related wear, including a few light scratches and dings and light cylinder rotation wear. The grip is equally excellent and has a crisp cartouche, smooth oiled finish, and a few minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. This is truly an elite example of Samuel Colt’s iconic Model 1860 Army revolver. The success of the Model 1860 Army led directly to the Colt Open Top and then the famous Colt Single Action Army. Provenance: The George S. Lewis Jr. Collection.
