First Year Production Colt Super .38
Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 3762, 38
Super cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut
grips. Manufactured in 1929, the first year of production. These
Super .38 pistols were first shown to the public at the August 1928
Camp Perry National Matches and were available for purchase by the
start of 1929. The left side of the matching number slide is marked
with the two-line address and patent dates while the right side bears
the caliber marking along with the Rampant Colt. The serial number
is on the right of the frame, the left of the trigger guard is marked “1”
over “VP”, and the right of the trigger guard is marked “60”. The unmarked barrel is blued with a polished chamber hood. Fitted with a blade front sight and notch rear sight, wide checkered hammer, long grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing, and checkered
walnut grips. Magazine absent.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of
the original blue finish with some light edge/
cycling wear, primarily on leading edges of
the slide, and a very light takedown mark.
The grips are also excellent with a few very
light handling marks and crisp checkering.
Mechanically excellent.

Pre-War/Post-War Colt Government
Model National Match Semi-Automatic
Pistol - Serial no. C199988, 45 ACP
cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut
grips. Originally manufactured in 1941 and most likely factory
assembled/finished in the late 1940s with the post-war non-glare
top slide blue. Only about 4,813 National Match Government Models
were manufactured between 1932 and 1941. The matching numbered
slide is marked with the two-line address and patent dates on the left
side and “NATIONAL MATCH COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE.45” on the right
side followed by the Rampant Colt. The serial number is on the right
side of the frame below “GOVERNMENT MODEL”. The blued barrel has a
polished chamber hood and is marked “”COLT 45 AUTO MATCH” on the
lower left and has a partial proof/inspection mark on the left of the lug. It
is fitted with a wide checkered hammer, milled checkered trigger, arched
checkered mainspring housing, and Swartz firing pin safety. The full blue magazine is marked “COLT/.45 AUTO.” on the baseplate.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 90% plus of the factory refinished blue with some scattered light scratches and handling marks and light edge wear. The grips are very fine with some scattered minor dings and blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Excellent Documented Colt Super .38 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Original Box and Factory Letter - Serial no. 105784, 38 Super Auto cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1952. These Super .38 pistols were first shown to the public at the August 1928 Camp Perry National Matches and were available for purchase by the start of 1929. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips not listed), as well as shipment to The Sutcliffe Company in Louisville, Kentucky on 11 September 1952. The left side of the slide has the Colt and caliber marking followed by the Rampant Colt. The right side of the slide has the one-line Colt address. The serial number is on the right of the frame, and the left of the trigger guard is marked “J”, “VP”, and “4”. The blued barrel is unmarked and has a polished chamber hood. Fitted with blade and notch sights, narrow checkered hammer, long grip safety, arched serrated mainspring housing, checkered grips, and a full blue .38
Super Auto magazine. Includes the original box numbered to the gun, cleaning brush, and manual.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 99% plus of the original blue finish with a few scattered very light handling marks. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with some light handling/storage wear.

Colt Model 1902 Sporting Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no.
10548, 38 Colt Auto cal., 6 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber
grips. Manufactured in 1907, this is an attractive example of a Colt
Model 1902 Sporting pistol. It has the standard two-line, two-block
patent dates and address and the circled Rampant Colt on the left of the
slide and the standard “AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS” marking on
the right. The slide is fitted with a blade front and rounded top notch rear sight as well as
the later production rear slide serrations which were introduced in April of 1905. It also
has a checkered rounded hammer and a smooth trigger. The hard rubber grips have the “COLT” banners at the top and circled Rampant Colts at the center. The replacement full blue magazine is marked “CAL. 38/COLT” on the baseplate.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 75% plus of the original, high polish blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, most noticeably on the front grip strap and edges, some spotting on the front right of the slide, and some scattered light handling
marks. The grips are very fine with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
