Desirable World War II British BSA No. 4 Mk I (T) Enfield Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Matching Numbered Mount, Scope, Scope Case and Transit Chest - Serial no. V39291, 303 British cal., 25 inch round bbl., blue/phosphate/black finish, walnut stock. This exceptional BSA manufactured No. 4 Mk I (T) Enfield sniper rifle is fitted with a No. 32 Mk III scope and mount, and is all matching including its accompanying original scope case and original transit chest. “M47C/1945/V39291/TR” marked on the left of the receiver stock socket.
The comb of the stock has a hardwood cheekpiece held on with two wood screws. Standard blade front sight and “N67” ladder rear sight.
Matching serial number “V39291” stamped on the bottom of the forend, left of the receiver stock socket and on the bolt handle, and “39291” on the bottom of the
magazine. The scope tube is marked with a red painted “W” above “TEL STG No 32 MK III/OS 2039 A/AK&S No23487/1945” above a broad arrow, with the standard post and
cross-hair reticle pattern, and fitted in a cast scope mount matching serial numbered to the rifle “V39291” on the left. The matching scope number “23487” is stamped on top of the
buttstock at the wrist, and “S51” is stamped on the bottom of the buttstock indicating conversion by Holland & Holland. Includes a Milsco 1944 dated brown leather sling, brown leather scope lens covers, the original green painted scope case, and the original green painted No. 15 Mk. I wooden sniper rifle transit chest, both the scope case and the transit chest have original labels with the handwritten matching rifle serial number “V39291” and scope serial number “23487”.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 85% plus wartime arsenal applied blue, phosphate and black finishes with a few small areas of light freckling. The magazine shows a brown patina. The wood is very fine with defined edges, some light handling marks, a few cracks visible on top ahead of the buttplate, and crisp stampings. Mechanically excellent. The scope, mount and scope case are very fine, with clear optics. The transit crate is very good with some light wear and a few absent chipped sections.

Extraordinary British Contract Winchester Pattern 14 Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet - Serial no. W192520, 303 British cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured by Winchester under contract for the government of Great Britain. Features winged blade front and folding ladder rear sights, “circle star” proofed receiver with a correct “W” prefix serial number, “star” proofed bolt handle with matching serial number, “W” marked striker, and retained dial adjustable front and flip up peep rear volley sights installed on the left side of the stock and receiver. Fitted with a smooth oiled walnut stock with retained brass unit disc in
the butt, trapdoor steel buttplate, and marked “88” and “W” on the nose. Includes a “1913/3-17/W” marked, British “crown/W9/A” and “crown/35/A” proofed, blued bayonet with ribbed walnut grips, leather sheath, and “G.&K./1918/J.L.R.” marked M1907 leather sling. Very few Winchester Pattern 14 rifles in a similar level of condition have been sold through Rock Island Auction Co. in the past, with one example noted as possibly being a Winchester factory retained sample. CONDITION: Excellent plus, as issued retaining 98% plus original polished blue finish with a slight plum coloration and fading on the receiver and barrel, bright roll marks, and limited handling evidence. Stock is also excellent with limited faint handling marks and attractive original raised grain. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet and scabbard are exceptionally excellent with limited minor handling wear and minor staining/freckling to the blade. A benchmark example of an original Winchester Pattern 14 rifle that would be a highlight of any advanced Winchester of British military themed collection and impossible to improve on!
