Upgraded Engraved and Gold Inlaid A. H. Fox 20
shows a gold inlaid bar at the base along with a flourish of scroll engraving, “KRUPP FLUID STEEL MADE BY” and A. H. FOX GUN Co. PHILA PA.” marked on the right and left tubes
respectively, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels both show a single band of engraving at the muzzle and a 3 inch wedge of floral scroll engraving inset with a
finely executed gold inlaid lightning bolt. The barrels are mated to a casehardened boxlock action
which displays “SPECIAL” in gold on the watertable and attractive floral scroll engraving incorporating FE style engraving to
include a gold inlaid setter on point on the left along with a geometric design, a pair of quail in a field on the underside, and a mirrored gold setter on the
right as well as a geometric design. The same gold geometric design is found on the toplever along with scroll work extending to the tangs and the triggerguard which
shows a gold bordered pair of mallards in flight. The gun features gold double triggers and a tang mounted manual safety with a gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator. The gun is
mounted with a lightly figured and fancy fleur-de-lis checkered snap-on splinter forend with engraved fittings along with a round knob pistol grip stock with checkered
flats and a serrated hard rubber buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .618/.617 inches; choke constriction .010/.010
inches; minimum wall thickness .028/.029 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 11/16 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 13 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally upgraded, retaining 99% blue, casehardened, and gold finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.

Extra Barrel Set - Serial no. 23808, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib
bbl., blue/casehardened/gold finish, walnut stock. The serial number dates to 1916 and subsequently extensively upgraded to its current “F Grade” configuration with blued barrels
featuring dual white bead sights on the
matted concave solid rib which shows a gold inlaid bar at the base along with a flourish of scroll engraving, “KRUPP FLUID STEEL MADE BY” and A. H. FOX GUN

and a 2 1/2 inch wedge of floral scroll engraving inset with a beautifully executed gold inlaid lightning bolt. The barrels are mated to a casehardened boxlock action which displays highly attractive
floral scroll engraving incorporating a gold inlaid setter on point on the left along with a flower, a gold pair of quail
in flight on the underside, and a gold inlaid retriever on the right as well as a second flower. The triggerguard is inlaid with a gold inlaid set of initials “DFD” and the
serial number is in gold on the lower tang. The gun features a single selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety with a gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator. The gun is
mounted with a beautiful highly figured and fancy fleur-de-lis checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and an ebony tip inlay and a round knob pistol grip stock
with checkered flats and a serrated hard rubber buttplate. Included is a second set of 26 inch 12 gauge barrels numbered to match and with matching engraving and
inlays. Barrel measurements for the extra set (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .731/.730 inches; choke constriction .004/.007 inches; minimum wall thickness
.029/.026 inches. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .733/.731 inches; choke constriction .008/.012 inches; minimum wall thickness

CONDITION: Very fine as professionally upgraded to its current configuration, retaining 99% blue and gold finishes, flashes of case colors on the action, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The extra barrel set is also very fine.
