Exceptional Colt Model 1861/72 Navy Richards-Mason Conversion Revolver with Tooled Leather Slim Jim Holster -
Serial no. 567, 38 RF cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. This attractive post-Civil War Colt Model 1861/72 Navy cartridge revolver was manufactured in the mid- 1870s within the separate 100-3300 serial number range, factory made using a mix of percussion revolver parts on hand and newly fabricated components. These revolvers are very rare with an estimated total production of just 2,200. They are particularly difficult to acquire in high condition. The barrel has a blade front sight, and the top is roll-stamped “-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-.”, the “COLTS/PATENT” marking
is on the left side of the frame, “36 CAL” is stamped on the left shoulder of the trigger guard, and the cylinder has the classic Naval Battle of Campeche roll scene. Matching serial numbers visible on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, and cylinder. A “1” is stamped above the barrel serial number, and below the serial number on the frame, trigger guard and back strap serial numbers. Assembly number “1043” marked on the loading gate. The revolver has a full nickel finish with an unmarked attractively tooled brown leather “Slim Jim” holster.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 90% plus original nickel plating with some loss on the hammer, a few areas of light edge wear and a few small patches of minor pitting. Grip is fine with some scattered flaking of the outer varnish finish and some scattered scratches and handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Holster is fine with some light age related wear and stitching holes visible where an absent hook once resided on the rear. An attractive Colt Model 1861 Navy Richards-Mason conversion revolver with period tooled leather holster that would make a fine addition to any American western arms collection!

The grip is very good with minor dings and scratches and high edge wear. The trigger guard is slightly bent in the front. Mechanically fine. high condition given
most examples appear
to have actually been
carried. This revolver
manufactured in 1863
remains in exceptional
condition and comes
in a period case. It has
a cone front sight and
the one-line New York
barrel address. The left
side of the frame has the small “COLTS/PATENT” marking. The trigger guard has “31 CAL” on the left. The six-shot cylinder has the classic stagecoach scene. The wedge, cylinder, and arbor pin are numbered “39678,” the loading lever is numbered “9678”, and the full serial number “239678” is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back strap. The butt is hand marked “AMXX.” The partitioned case with red lining contains some balls and bullets, single sided powder flask, “L” shaped combination tool, two cavity bullet mold with faint Colt marking, case key, and Eley cap tin.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 60% plus bright original polish blue finish with smooth brown patina on the balance. The cylinder scene is clear overall. 85% original vivid case colors remain on the loading lever, frame,
and hammer. The brass grip straps have an attractive appearance. The grip is very fine with minor handling marks, some high edge wear, and most of the original varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with a cracked lid, handling/storage marks, and typical high spot wear on the lining. The accessories are good. A charming Civil War era Colt Model 1849 percussion revolver.

Civil War Era Colt Model 1860 Army Percussion Revolver with U.S. Inspected Bullet Mold - Serial no. 88576, 44 cal., 8 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened/silver finish, walnut grips. The Model 1860 Army was the primary revolver used by the Union during the Civil War. This example was manufactured in 1863. Full and partial matching serial number marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, cylinder, and arbor pin. Mismatched wedge. Grip lacks U.S. inspector cartouche. Includes an all blued “COLT’S/PATENT” and “44 H” marked two cavity bullet mold with U.S. inspector mark “A.H.K.” CONDITION: Very good, displaying a smooth gray patina with the barrel retaining 40% original

Colt Model 1862 Police/Pocket Navy Cartridge Conversion Revolver with Leather Holster - Serial no. 2709, 38 RF cal., 4 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1861 and later one of approximately 6,500 converted c. 1873-1875. The barrel has the standard one-line address, “COLTS/ PATENT” marked on the left of the frame, “36 CAL” on the left of the trigger guard, and the stagecoach hold up scene roll engraved on the cylinder. Matching visible serial numbers including “709” partial number on the cylinder. Includes a period leather flap style holster. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus original nickel plating and much of the nitre blue on screws with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina, some scattered mild flaking of the nickel plating, and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The grip is also very fine with some minor dings and scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent. The dry leather holster is very good with moderate wear and torn flap retention strap.
