Excellent Documented World War II U.S. Inspected and U.S. Navy Shipped Colt Woodsman
Match Target Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory Letter - Serial no. MT13566, 22 LR cal., 6 5/8 inch slab sided bbl., blue finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1943 with U.S. ordnance crossed cannon stamp on the left (struck lightly) and “G.H.D.” inspection mark on the right. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips not listed) as well as sale to the U.S. government and shipment to the Naval Supply Depot at Norfolk, Virginia, on 14 September 1943. The left side of the barrel has the standard “MATCH/bullseye/TARGET” marking, “THE WOODSMAN” on the left of the frame, and standard Colt and caliber markings on the left of the slide. The left of the trigger guard is marked “P/VP”, and “74” is on the right. Fitted with a pinned blade front sight, adjustable notch rear sight, checkered plastic extended grips with Rampant Colts, and a full blue magazine with correctly marked base. This pistol is consecutively serialized to the following lot and was included in the same shipment to the U.S. Navy.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% of the original blue finish with a few scattered light handling marks and some light edge and upper grip strap wear. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically
excellent.

Exceptional World War II U.S. Colt Service Model Ace Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory Letter and Rock Island Arsenal Shipping Box - Serial no. SM3164, 22 LR cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1942, near the start of U.S. involvement in World War II. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration, grips not listed, as well as sale to the U.S. government and shipment to Springfield Armory on 26 May 1942. The left side of the slide is marked with the standard two-line address and patent dates, followed by the Rampant Colt, and the right side has the standard Service Model Ace and caliber markings. The right side of the frame has the serial number and “69” on
the trigger guard. The left side of the frame has a double stamped boxed “W.B.” inspection mark and “T/ VP” on the trigger guard. The barrel is unmarked and has a polished chamber. It is fitted with blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, short checkered trigger, checkered arched mainspring housing, wide checkered hammer, long grip safety, checkered walnut grips, and a full blue magazine with Colt Service Model Ace markings on the base. Includes a shipping box with Rock Island Arsenal marked label, an extra magazine with Service Model Ace markings on the base, and a manual.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 98% plus of the professionally refinished blue finish with some very light edge wear, mostly restricted to the leading edges of the slide, and very minimal handling evidence. The grips are excellent with a few very light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is good, with a partly absent label.
