CONDITION: Good with 85% blue finish remaining, some areas of thinning, small traces of light surface pitting, minor edge wear, and small surface scratches. The receiver has 85% vibrant original case colors with well defined engraving, light silvering on the lower edges and fences, and some small dings on the trigger guard edges. The wood is also very good with some small scattered dings and bruises, mostly crisp checkering, and a small chip at the front right of the forearm. Mechanically excellent.

CONDITION: Very fine, retaining nearly all of the original brown finish with strong Damascus patterns, traces of original case colors in the protected areas with the balance a fine grey, and light handling evidence. The wood is very good with light handling marks and worn but well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. A rare chance to own a western-used drilling! Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000

Factory Engraved J. V. Needham .410 Bore Small Frame Boxlock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 13930, 410 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single sight bead on the smooth concave solid rib which is marked “J. V. NEEDHAM. LOVEDAY STREET. BIRMINGHAM.”, light engraving at the breech, 1937 dated Birmingham proofs, import mark under forend, choke constrictions of .022/.021 inches, and 2 1/2” chambers with single extractor. The barrels are mated to a casehardened boxlock action with light scroll engraving surrounding “J. V. NEEDHAM” signatures on either side and featuring double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety. The gun is fitted with a lightly figured and multi-point checkered
forend with engraved fittings and a horn tip inlay and a straight grip stock with blank silver inscription oval and a serrated bare butt. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 3/16 inch
drop at heel; 14 9/16 inch length of pull; weight 4 lbs. 3 oz. CONDITION: Very good overall, with all of the reapplied blue finish on the barrels, triggerguard, triggerplate, and toplever, greyed action with some flashes of original case colors, some minor spotting and pitting,
and some dings and scratches and well-defined checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500
CONDITION: Excellent as professionally refurbished, retaining 99% plus blue finish and attractively muted case colors with some handling marks, a patch of plum coloration on the underside of the action, and overall crisp engraving. The stock is very fine with some dings and scratches, some softening of the checkering, and a hairline stress line the upper tang. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

Factory Engraved W&J Jeffery Side by Side Boxlock Ejector Shotgun - Serial no. 37398, 12 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blue steel dovetail lump barrels marked “W.J. JEFFERY & Co. Ltd./9. GOLDEN SQUARE. REGENT St. LONDON. W.1.” with chambers marked and measured at 2 3/4 inches, single bead sight on the matte rib, and standard Birmingham proofs on the flats. Casehardened boxlock action with third fastener, sculpted fences, dual triggers, and automatic sliding tang safety. The receiver has been engraved with flowing floral and scroll designs, W.J. Jeffery banner maker’s mark on the sides, and matching engraving on the trigger guard and tangs. Checkered straight grain walnut straight grip stock and forearm with engraved fittings, Anson latch, silver initial oval with a “TC” monogram, tear drop carved flats, and checkered bare
butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech proved at 12 (.729) and measured .733/.733; minimum wall thickness .028/

Rare Engraved J. P. Lower & Sons 10 Gauge/45-70 Government Hammer Drilling - Serial no. 11093, 10/45 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., brown/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. John Pray (J.P.) Lower was a gunsmith from Denver, Colorado and one of the states most prominent gun dealers. Lower bought out the famous shop of the Freund Brothers in 1875 and continued dealing in firearms and all manner of sporting goods until his death in 1917. This gun was built on what is likely a German built action completed by Lower and is as American as apple pie with its 10 gauge and 45-70 Government chamberings capable of taking anything one could
encounter on the American frontier. Built with browned barrels featuring a fixed beaded blade front sight, dual folding rear sight, as well as a fixed rear notch
on the matted flat solid rib which is marked “J. P. LOWER & SONS DENVER COL. DAMASCUS BARRELS”, a front sling swivel, choke constrictions of .005/.025 inches, and 2 7/8 inch
chambers with a single extractor. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened push-forward underlever action which shows light scroll engraving with “J. P. LOWER & SONS” signed on either

Factory Engraved Von Lengerke & Detmold Retailer Marked A. Francotte Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 34915, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single steel bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, “VON LENGERKE & DETMOLD” and “ U.S. AGENTS NEW-YORK” marked on the right and left respectively, engraving at the breech, and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened boxlock action with sideclipped fences and scroll engraving surrounding Francotte signatures on either side. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “S”. The gun is mounted with an attractively figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with red rubber recoil pad. Stock measurements: 1 1/4 inch drop at comb; 2 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 4 oz.
