SIMILAR EXAMPLE PICTURED AND DESCRIBED IN GIANFRANCO PEDERSOLI MASTER ENGRAVER
Framed Presentation Gianfranco Pedersoli Signed Engraver’s
Plate and Plate Pressing - These framed works of art are by the
late Italian Master Engraver Gianfranco Pedersoli who passed in
2021. During his illustrious career, he worked with the best of the
best, engraving high end sporting guns for exacting clients across
the globe. One is the steel plate hand engraved by the master himself. It bears the
image of an English pointer panting in the exacting detail Pedersoli was known for. The
lower right of the plate bears his signature, and the lower left is hand cut “Rose”. The
other of the two is a pressing of the plate hand signed “G. Franco Pedersoli. inc.” in the
lower right. As shown on page 191 of “Gianfranco Pedersoli Master Engraver”, this image
was used for a limited edition of 30 pressings. This example is unnumbered which, when coupled with the note,
shows this to be a presentation example of the plate. Both are in plain wooden frames with moss green matting. The plate has a note from Pedersoli on the back thanking the recipient for his appreciation of Pedersoli’s engraving.
CONDITION: The frames show minimal storage and handling marks, and the engraving plate shows some residue remaining from the pressing. This would make an excellent addition to any gun room or office!
Estimate: 1,500 - 2,500
