Excellent Early Production Three Digit Serial Number 284 Winchester Model 53 Lever Action Takedown Rifle in Desirable .44-40 WCF - Serial no. 284, 44-40 WCF cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1924 per Madis, the first year of production. The rifle is fitted with a Lyman beaded blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight on a barrel with standard Winchester markings. The Winchester factory oval proof is stamped on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The early three digit serial number is stamped on the underside of the frame. The straight grip stock is fitted with a serrated steel shotgun type buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% original blue finish with some scattered areas showing thinning to brown and traces of original blue on the buttplate. The wood is also excellent with a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: Property of a Distinguished Southern Clergyman. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500
LOT 1490 Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle in .220 Swift - Serial no. 151210, 220 Swift cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1950. Fitted with a hooded ramped beaded blade front sight, elevation adjustable rear buckhorn sight, and standard Winchester markings. Matte blue straight tang receiver with polished bolt body, filler screws in scope base holes, and flag style safety. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with multi-point checkering, sling swivels, and checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 97% plus of original blue finish with light handling marks, fading on the bolt handle, and crisp stock checkering. Mechanically excellent. LOT 1491 Excellent Winchester Deluxe Model 71 Lever Action Rifle - Serial no. 29254, 348 WCF cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1949, the Model 71 was intended to be an updated version of Winchester’s venerable Model 1886. It has the standard Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The upper left of the barrel has the standard proof steel, Winchester trademark, model, and caliber markings. It is fitted with a ramped, hooded, and beaded blade front sight, a filler in the rear sight dovetail, and an added Lyman 56 peep sight mounted on the left of the receiver. It is mounted with a checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap, sling swivels, and a checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original blue finish with some very light scattered handling evidence. The wood is also excellent with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250

Winchester Model 52B Sporting Bolt Action Rifle with Unertl Scope - Serial no. 77117B, 22 LR cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1953. Hooded ramp front sight, receiver sight base only (no stock inlet), Unertl 16x scope, “SPORTING” marked ahead of the trigger guard, Winchester factory oval proof on the barrel and receiver, and checkered pistol grip stock with hard rubber factory grip cap, raised cheekpiece, quick release sling swivels, and checkered steel buttplate.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 85% plus original blue finish showing some thinning to a brown patina (most noticeable on the forward trigger guard) and some high edge wear. The stock is also very fine showing some minor handling marks, especially where a side mount had been installed, along few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The scope retains 95% plus original finish with limited light pitting and has slightly hazy optics. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000

Winchester Model 64 Lever Action Rifle in Desirable .219 Zipper - Serial no. 1148443, 219 zipper cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1937. The barrel features a hooded blade ramp front sight, a rear sight dovetail filler block, Lyman receiver peep sight, and standard Winchester markings including “219 ZIPPER” on the left side at the breech. .219 Zipper is the most sought
after caliber for this rifle due to its rarity. A Winchester factory oval proof is stamped on the barrel and receiver at the breech. Left side of receiver has added holes with filler screws installed. The pistol grip stock is fitted with a checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 80% original blue finish with a mix of thinning to brown and smooth gray patina on the balance. The re-oiled wood is also fine with some minor dings and scratches. LOT 1494 Excellent 1963 Production Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 565365, 270 Win cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1963, shortly before Winchester made cost cutting changes to the design in 1964 and subsequent production. Fitted with ramped, hooded, beaded blade front and folding notch rear sights, with the bolt body jeweled. The left side of the barrel is marked with the Winchester address, model, and caliber. “WP” proofs are marked on the barrel and receiver. The receiver is marked with the Winchester trademark on the left and serial number on the right receiver ring. Mounted in a multi-point checkered straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with sling loops, raised cheekpiece, and checkered plastic buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue finish with limited thinning on the bolt handle, and otherwise limited handling evidence. Stock is also excellent with a few minor dings and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750
LOT 1495 Excellent Pre-World War II Winchester Model 52 Target Bolt Action Rifle with Hartmann Case - Serial no. 37206, 22 LR cal., 28 inch heavy round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1935. The heavy barrel is fitted with a globe front sight and marked with the model, Winchester trade mark, and caliber on the left side near the chamber. The barrel is tapped with filler screws in place on top of the chamber and on top behind the barrel band. The left side of the barrel and action are marked with Winchester “WP” proofs. The action is topped with a Lyman peep sight and marked on the right side with the patent information. Mounted in a straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with beavertail forend. Includes a Hartmann case containing extra sight inserts, an extra magazine, and leather sling. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks. Wood is very fine with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Case is fine. Provenance: Property of a Distinguished Southern Clergyman.
