Engraved and Gold Inlaid Smith & Wesson Model 25-3 125th Anniversary Double Action
Class III/NFA Short Barreled Rifle - Serial no. S&W6827, 45 Long Colt cal., 6 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, relief carved walnut stock. Manufactured
in 1977 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Smith & Wesson, this revolver has been subsequently engraved, gold inlaid, and converted to a short barreled
rifle. The revolver displays near full coverage German oak leaf and acorn engraving with gold inlaid barrel markings,
ring at the muzzle, sight ramp outline, initials “PME” on the crane, border on the cylinder, oak leaves on the left of the frame, a moose in a woods scene on the right side above the trigger guard, and commemorative markings on the sideplate. Import marked and 1979 dated German proofs on the frame. Fitted with red ramp front and adjustable rear sights, a set
of finger groove fish scale checkered
grips, and a detachable shoulder stock with engraved attaching iron, fish scale pattern panel on both sides of the wrist, raised cheekpiece on the left, an elaborately relief carved scene of two moose in a wooded scene, and solid Kimber recoil pad.
CONDITION: Excellent as upgraded, retaining 99% plus blue finish with some light fading to an attractive plum coloration on the barrel and cylinder, some light handling marks,
and crisp engraving. Wood is also excellent with dings and scratches and crisp relief carving. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C.
