Engraved German Wilk’s Safety Fire Arms Over/Under 20 Gauge
 Shotgun - Serial no. 1439, 20 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, walnut stock. Blue “KRUPP-LAUFSTAHL” marked barrels with chambers marked at 2 3/4 inches “70mm”, provision for a front sight bead, automatic
ejectors, and standard German proofs dated 1933.
Casehardened, scalloped action with Kersten
third fastener, unique double handspanner (hand
   cocking) action, dual triggers (front is articulated), and silver inlaid “SAFE” marking on the upper tang. The receiver is engraved
with detailed game bird scenes of ducks on the right and pheasants on the left. The bird scenes are
surrounded with fine scroll and border engraving, and the trigger guard is engraved with a small bird scene. The underside of the receiver is marked “WILK’S SAFETY FIRE ARMS U.S.A./PATENT NR. 1898651”
ahead of the trigger guard. Attractive checkered walnut pistol grip stock and forearm with engraved
fittings, scalloped horn grip cap, and serrated horn buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at nine inches from
breech .628/.628; choke constriction .000/.000; minimum wall thickness .023/.022; drop at comb 1 7/16 inches; drop at heel 2 7/16 inches; length of pull 13 7/8 inches;
cast off; weight 4 lbs. 15 oz.
CONDITION: Very good with 95% original blue finish on the barrel, some light surface scratches, mild spotting around the muzzle, and absent sight bead. The receiver has 80% original vibrant case colors with high point and edge wear, well-defined engraving, and areas of a dove gray patina. The wood is fine with numerous small dings and scratches, rich color, and some small scattered edge chips. Mechanically excellent.

30 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock.

“SOLE AGENT FOR SOUTH AFRICA:” and “R. MULLER-CAPE
TOWN.” in gold on the shotgun barrel, solid matte rib singed “IMMAN MEFFERT, SUHL,” beaded blade front sight on ramp base, express rear sight,
2 3/4 inch chamber, full choke, and original German proofs, as well as London blackpowder reproofs dated 2012 for the shotgun barrel. Casehardened action
with doll’s head rib extension featuring various simple border engravings, German proofs, and set rifle trigger. Round knob pistol grip stock with multi-point checkering, forearm hardware and trigger guard engraved to match, and checkered horn buttplate.
CONDITION: Fine. The barrels retain 50% original blue finish with smooth gray patina on the balance and limited pitting under the forearm. The action retains some original case colors in and around the protected areas. There is a crack in the left fence. The wood is fine with a couple small chips on the forearm, minor dings and scratches, some blemishes in the checkering and repaired buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
