Desirable and Scarce Scott Rogers Signed “Wild Hearts Raging Waters”
Limited Edition Bronze Sculpture, Cast Number “9/30” - A majestic and
expressive bronze sculpture depicting two French Canadian frontiersmen
holding their own in a canoe as they are rushed through torrential rapids
with jutting boulders. The rock to the front left of the canoe is marked
“WILD HEARTS/RAGING WATERS”
and signed underneath “SCOTT/
ROGERS/2010” for the well
regarded American artist
Scott Rogers of Utah, who is best known for his Western and
Americana themed bronze sculptures, such as this example
which is the ninth of a limited edition of 30 such castings
released. The cast number “9/30” is marked on the
lower right side under the rear of the canoe.
Fitted with a revolving metal base underneath.
With the following approximate dimensions: 25
1/2 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 17 1/4 inches tall.
Weight is approximately 40 pounds.
CONDITION: Excellent overall.

Signed “Vaquero” Limited Edition Bronze
Sculpture, Cast Number “4/50” - A spectacular
limited edition bronze of a southwestern ‘vaquero’
(Spanish for cattle herder) riding his steed in full
gallop down an embankment, with this example
being the fourth of 50 total castings. Signed
“JWHAMPTON” and dated “1984” on the back
side of the simulated embankment. The bronze is mounted to a three inch tall edged and oiled
hardwood plinth contoured to the base, which is fitted with brass name plate marked “VAQUERO
4/50” and “JWHAMPTON” in “cattlebrand iron” style script. Born in New York City, John “Johnny” Wade
Hampton (1918-2000) was an American painter and sculptor best know for his classic depictions of
Old West cowpoke life, building off of his own youthful experiences as a cowhand in New Mexico, and
was one of four original founding members of the Cowboy Artist of America organization, founded
in 1965. His artwork is currently on display is several museums, including the National Cowboy
and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a Marine during World War
II, loved Tom Mix films, and illustrated the Red Ryder comic strip with Fred Harman. With the
following approximate dimensions: 29 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 26 1/2 inches tall. Weight
is approximately 80 pounds.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, with minimal age and some minor handling marks on the plinth.

Desirable Kevin McCarthy Signed “Stolen Pony” Limited
Edition Bronze Sculpture Number “10/15” - A spectacular
bronze of an American western pioneer “mountain man”
riding his steed in full gallop with a stolen mount in tow.
The man is detailed in a fashion similar to Jeremiah Johnson,
with scraggly beard and hair mixed with the blowing furs of his cap, dressed from head to foot in
leather shirt and trousers with wisps blowing in the wind, along with a detailed belt, bowie knife,
and powder horn. In his right hand he holds a lever action rifle in a leather wrap. His mount is
saddled in what appears to be furs, with a wrapped up fur sitting behind him. The stolen pony
features a native style wrapped leather shield, indicating the affiliation of its former rider. In
the Old West frontier horses were a highly prized commodity by natives and pioneers alike,
making scenes like this more likely than one might imagine. The bronze is mounted to a edged
and oiled hardwood plinth contoured to the base. The base also includes a brass name plate
marked “STOLEN PONY/KEVIN McCARTHY,” along with “Kevin McCarthy 10/15” signed on the
base itself. Kevin McCarthy is an American artist born in 1955, known for his sculpting of scenes
from the American Old West and represented by the Toh-Atin Gallery. With the following
approximate dimensions: 23 inches high, 15 inches wide, 24 inches deep. Weight is
approximately 60 pounds.
CONDITION: Excellent overall.

Bald Eagle with Fish by James Sears - This
wonderful bronze depicts the greatest symbol of
the United States, the bald eagle, as it swoops
away from a successful
hunt. The eagle is
depicted with its full
wingspan on display
and a fish clutched in
its talons. The work is
signed “JAMES/SEARS”
on the water. The bronze
measures 16x2x33
inches. Included with the
statue is a wooden table
measuring 22x34x41 1/2
inches.
CONDITION: Excellent
with some minor storage
and handling marks and
an attractive patina. Table
is very fine with a few
minor dings and scratches.

Old Man Winter Bronze by Vic Payne

- This wonderful bronze tells the
story of the origins of “Old Man
Winter”. Several aspects of the bronzes
decoration have been painted in
vibrant reds and blues. The
artist’s signature is on the
ground to the right of the
horse and rider. The statue
measures 36x23 1/2x38
inches. Includes a wooden
display table with a brass
plaque on the front with
the story of Old Man Winter
that measures 27x46x39
inches, a copy of a letter
from Mountain Trails Galleries
giving the measurements for
the sculpture, and a copy of a
certificate of authenticity.
CONDITION: Excellent with
a few storage and handling
marks and an attractive patina. Table
is very fine with some storage and
handling marks.
