The crossed revolvers correctly have the left gun under the right gun, and the
angled/offset mortar rings as discussed above are also correct for a Walker flask.
Also see page 162-164 of the same work to compare it to the Dragoon pattern
which is more detailed and has the distinctively different inline mortar rings, mortar
truncheon pins, and parallel Colt Patent markings. Also note that the loading levers
on the revolvers are different on the earlier Walker flasks and this one and note the
angle of the drum on the right which is more acute on these early flasks.
CONDITION: Excellent overall. The body of the flask retain nearly all of the original
lacquer and gilt finish. The “Trophy of Arms” is overall crisp and has the correct
details. This is an example of an original and extremely rare Walker powder flask
that will be hard to improve upon.
