U.S. Navy Contract Colt Model 1911
Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 40496,

two-block Colt address and patent dates, with the Rampant Colt logo behind the slide
serrations, along with the desirable “MODEL OF 1911 U.S. NAVY” roll-marked on the right
side. The left of the frame bears the U.S. property marking and circled “WGP” (Maj. Walter
G. Penfield) inspection stamp, with the serial number on the right side. Fitted with a pair of
“double-diamond” checkered walnut grips and a two-tone magazine with “keyhole” relief cut
at the rear and pinned lanyard loop base.

edge wear, a modified replacement rear sight, thinning on the grip straps revealing mostly brown patina
and some minor pitting, light cycling wear, and
some light handling marks. The right grip is
very fine with the fine left grip displaying some
compression wear in the otherwise defined
checkering. Mechanically excellent.
Estimate: 14,000 - 22,500
