CONDITION: Excellent. This receiver retains 90% plus of the original blue finish. The
barrel and half-magazine have 98% of the original blue finish. The barrel makings,
engraving and gold inlay are perfect. The forearm cap shows only traces of handling
wear. The bright blue of the takedown collar and adjacent portions of the receiver is
flaked to brown and shows light handling wear. There is some very minor handling
wear on the left side of the receiver near the game scene; the balance of the receiver
shows minimal finish wear. The bolt retains nearly all of the bright blue finish. The
blue loading gate retains 95% plus of the original finish, 95% of the blue is present on
the buttplate. The meticulously engraved scroll and border works and highly detailed
game scenes are in nearly perfect condition. The hammer, lever and trigger have
98% of the original case colors. The highly figured walnut stock and forearm remain
in excellent condition with crisp checkering and minimal handling wear. This is an
excellent example of a scarce Winchester deluxe Model 1894 takedown rifle with gold
inlaid barrel band, factory engraving and deluxe pistol grip stock and forearm.
