Colt House Model “Cloverleaf”
Spur Trigger Revolver with
Rare 1 1/2 Inch Octagon Barrel
- Serial no. 2103, 41 RF cal., 1 1/2
inch octagon bbl., blue/silver finish,
walnut grips. Manufactured in 1871, this is one of
approximately 7,500 manufactured known as the
“cloverleaf” variation, due to the shape of their
four-shot cylinder. This specific revolver is a very
rare variation, featuring a 1 1/2 inch octagon barrel. The left of the barrel
is marked “COLT”. The serial number is marked on the butt and matching
serial number hand marks inside both grip panels.
CONDITION: Good, retains faint traces of the original blue and silver finishes
with the balance of the iron a mixture of grey and brown patina and some scattered light
pitting, while the brass shows an attractively aged patina. The grips are also fine with traces
of varnish, mild wear, and a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Very Fine Colt Open Top Pocket Spur
Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 18960, 22 RF cal.,
2 3/8 inch round bbl., blue/silver finish, walnut
grips. Manufactured in 1874, it has the early
production high spur hammer and not engraved, which is
quite a rare occurrence for this model. The top of the barrel has the
standard two-line address flanked by Maltese crosses, and the left
of the frame is marked with “22CAL”. The matching serial number
is marked on the butt, bottom of the barrel lug, and penciled inside
both grip panels. It has standard features including a pair of smooth walnut grips.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish and 30%
of the darkly patinated silver with the balance either a brown patina or attractively aged
brass. The grips are also very fine with a few minor handling marks and almost all of the
original varnish. Mechanically excellent.

Attractive Factory
Engraved Colt
Open Top Pocket Spur Trigger Revolver
- Serial no. 75458, 22 RF cal., 2 3/8 inch round
bbl., nickel/silver finish, walnut grips. Manufactured
in 1875, the top of the barrel is marked with the
standard Colt two-line address flanked by Maltese
crosses. The frame, barrel, and cylinder have flourishes of factory, floral
scroll pattern engraving that covers nearly all of the surfaces. The serial
number is marked on the butt, on the bottom of the barrel lug, and
faintly in pencil on the inside of each of the smooth walnut grips.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 95% plus of the original nickel on the barrel and cylinder, and traces
of the original silver remains on the frame with the balance an attractively aged brass, with the
engraving crisp overall. The grips are also very fine with a few light handling marks and light
wear. Mechanically excellent.

Proofed Colt No. 2
Derringer - Serial
no. 5095, 41 RF
cal., 2 1/2 inch irregular bbl., blue/
silver finish, walnut grips. Manufactured from 1870 to
1890. The derringer has the standard two line Hartford
barrel address followed by “NO. 2”. The letter “C” is stamped
ahead of the checkered trigger. The frame has the standard
engraving. Fitted with checkered grips numbered to the gun. The
barrel is also numbered to the gun and has a pair of British proofs
stamped on the underside.
CONDITION: Very fine. The barrel retains 70% original blue finish with the balance a smooth
gray patina. The hammer retains strong amounts of original case colors. The frame retains
traces of aged original silver plating along the edges with the balance a smooth gray patina showing a few
patches of light pitting. The grips are very fine with most of the original varnish, showing high edge wear and
some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.

Derringer - Serial
no. 1275, 41 RF cal.,
2 1/2 inch irregular
bbl., blue finish, metal grips.
Colt’s First Model Derringer was based on the design first
manufactured by Moore Patent Firearms Co. and then the
National Arms Co. before it was purchased by Colt in 1870.
They were manufactured until 1890. This example features standard
Colt markings, factory engraving on the frame that extends to the rear
of the barrel, and a matching numbered barrel.
CONDITION: Fine. The barrel retains 80% original blue finish and frame
has a brown-gray patina with some pitting. Mechanically excellent.

2 1/2 inch irregular
bbl., blue finish, metal grips. Colt’s First
Model Derringer was based on the design first manufactured

markings and factory engraving on the frame as well as London proofs
on the underside of the matching numbered barrel.

few patches of pitting.
