Documented Exceptional Factory Engraved Etched Panel Colt
Frontier Six Shooter Model 1878 Double Action Revolver with Pearl
Grips and Factory Letter - Serial no. 19735, 44-40 cal., 4 3/4 inch round
bbl., nickel finish, pearl grips. The factory letter confirms this revolver in
.44 caliber with a 4 3/4 inch barrel, nickel finish, and factory engraving
when it was part of a shipment of five revolvers of this type shipped
to E.C. Meacham Arms Co. in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 17, 1887. The
grips were not listed. This stunning revolver features elaborate scroll,
geometric, and wavy line engraving, “COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER”
etched in a panel among the engraving on the left side of the barrel, the
two-line address on top, matching partial serial number “35” on the rear
face of the cylinder, full serial number at the toe, assembly number “211”
on the loading gate, an attractive pair of smooth pearl grips, and lanyard
ring on the butt.
