Shipped Colt Model 1903 Pocket
Hammer Semi-Automatic Pistol with
Factory Letter - Serial no. 44385, 38
Colt Auto cal., 4 1/2 inch round bbl., blue
finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1922, this pistol
exhibits the late factory finish that was implemented around
serial number 36000. The included factory letter confirms the
current configuration, grips not listed, and shipment to California
Hardware Co. in Los Angeles, California, on 8 November 1922. The
two-line/two-block patent dates and address on the left side of the
slide ahead of the Rampant Colt, and the caliber markings are on
the right ahead of the ejector port. The trigger guard is marked “1/VP” on the left side and “48” on the right. It is
fitted with blade and notch sights, a checkered casehardened spur hammer, smooth trigger, a pair of checkered
hard rubber grips with Rampant Colts and “COLT” banners at the top, and a two-tone magazine marked “PKT/
COLT/38 CAL.”
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 95% of the original blue finish with some light edge/holster type wear
and a few scattered speckles of light pitting on the top edge of the slide. The grips are very fine with a few
scattered light handling marks and otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Box - Serial no. 512988,
32 ACP cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish,
walnut grips. Manufactured in 1932, with
the standard two-line address, patent dates,
Rampant Colt on the left of the slide, and
the caliber markings on the right. The left
side of the fame bears the serial number,
with the left side of the trigger guard marked with “VP”, while “75” is marked on the right side. Fitted with a pair
of checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions. Includes the original Colt maroon box, with matching end
label and serial number written on the underside in pencil, and a cleaning rod.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with some limited edge wear focused near the
muzzle, and a few minor handling marks. The grips are also excellent with some slight compression wear to the
otherwise crisp checkering, some limited patina showing on the medallions, and some verdigris showing on the
screw inserts. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with some light edge wear and paint splatter visible on
the lid.

grips. Features fixed blade front
and adjustable notch rear sights,
unmarked blue barrel with polished
chamber hood, checkered slide stop,
thumb safety, short trigger, and wide
hammer, along with an arched checkered mainspring housing. The left side of the slide has the standard two-
line address and patent dates, while the right has the Colt and caliber markings followed by the Rampant Colt,
along with matching “160/367” serial number marked behind the firing pin stop. The frame is marked with “I”
and “triangle/VP” on the left of the trigger guard, “60” on the right of the trigger guard, and with “GOVERNMENT
MODEL” and serial number on the right side. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips and two-toned
magazine with pinned base. Includes the original numbers matching Colt factory box with manual and
bore brush.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% original bright blue finish with some limited minor edge wear, two faint
spots of oxidation on the front strap, and otherwise limited minor handling marks. The grips are exceptionally
fine with some minor scuffs in the otherwise defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with
tears visible on the edge of the lid.

Woodsman Semi-Automatic Pistol, Serial
Number “MT54” - Serial no. MT54, 22 LR cal., 6 5/8 inch
slab side bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in
1938, the first year of production for the Colt First Series
Match Target Woodsman pistols (approximate serial range
from MT1 to MT2899), with this example being among the
first 60 made that year. Features pinned blade front and
adjustable target notch rear sights, the “MATCH/bullseye/
TARGET”, Woodsman, and caliber designation on the left of the barrel and slide with Rampant Colt in front of the
serrations, and serial number “MT54” on the lower left side of the magazine well/grip frame. Fitted with a desirable
one-piece checkered walnut elephant ear grip with silver Colt medallions and a two-tone magazine with Colt
Woodsman nomenclature marked on the base plate. Included with the pistol is a letter from Richards Sports
Shop of Marquette, Michigan, stating that the pistol was sold through the retailer, also including a copy of the
shop records book which lists the pistol by serial number as being received on April 13, 1939, and sold shortly
thereafter on April 18, 1939.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with some minor edge wear on the muzzle, a
few scattered scratches, and limited minor handling marks. The grip is also excellent with crisp checkering and
attractive aged oil finish. Mechanically excellent.
