Exceptional World War II U.S. Winchester M1 Semi-Automatic
Carbine - Serial no. 1276916, 30 Carbine cal., 18 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut
stock. Manufactured as a part of the first production block from Winchester Repeating Arms Co. (serial
number range from 1,000,000 to 1,349,999) produced from October 1942 to December 1943, with this example produced
after February 1943 (when Winchester stopped adding dates to barrels). Features winged blade front and “S” marked two
position ‘L’ flip rear sights, undated Winchester “W” marked and circled “WP” proofed barrel with “ordnance bomb” on the gas cylinder and bright chamber, type 1 barrel
band with two weld scars, “W” type 2 blued flat top bolt, “V” and “W” marked type 3 slide, “W” type 2 recoil plate, and a “O/W” and “R” marked milled trigger housing with
“SW” type 2 safety, “W” type 3 magazine release, “W” sear, and “W” type 3 hammer. Fitted with a smooth oiled walnut high wood stock with oval oiler slot and flat bottom
forend, marked “W” in the sling inlet along with “W.R.A./G.H.D.” (Col. Guy H. Drewry) inspector cartouche and crossed cannon on the left of the butt, topped off with a “W”
and “Z” marked type 1 deep-groove handguard. Includes tan web sling and metal oiler. Magazine is absent.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retaining 90% original parkerized finish with scattered light edge wear, light cycling wear, dried grease, some minor areas of spotting/brown
patina showing, and some mild handling marks. The stock is very fine with some minor scuffs, clear markings, and attractive oil finish. Mechanically excellent.

Semi-Automatic Rifle with CMP “Correct Grade” Certificate and Box - Serial no. 5533346,
30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Receiver from 1955 production. Features a winged blade
front and adjustable T105 rear sight assembly with “DRC” marked windage knob, wide base gas cylinder with “high hump” gas cylinder lock, “HRA”
marked cross slot lock screw, “6535382 HRA” operating rod, “5528287 HRA/U” bolt, and a “HRA” barrel with bright chamber, dated “9-54” under the operating rod.
The trigger housing is marked “6528290-HRA N”, with a “HRA 5546008” hammer, “HRA” safety, and unmarked stamped guard. Fitted with a smooth oiled walnut
stock with boxed “DoD eagle” inspection cartouche left of the wrist and a circled non-serif “P” firing proof on the underside of the grip. Includes a matching Civilian Marksmanship
Program (CMP) letter of authenticity listing the rifle as “M1 Garand Correct Grd” and dated October 23, 2008, a Freedom of Information Act request response from Department of the Army that only shows this rifle as
received and sold by the CMP in 2008, and a shipping box.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original parkerized finish with some minor high-point edge wear, dried grease in the action and rear sight assembly, limited spotting/brown patina, and limited mild handling marks.
The stock is very fine as lightly sanded and re-oiled. Mechanically excellent.

Very Scarce World War II U.S. Saginaw/Irwin-
Pedersen “S’G’” M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine - Serial no. 1765737, 30 M1 Carbine
cal., 18 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Distinguished from other Saginaw M1
carbine output by the use of the “S’G’” marking on the receiver heel, these carbines were made by
Saginaw using assets claimed from the firm of Irwin-Pedersen in Grand Rapids when their M1 production run came to an end.
This receiver falls in the first block, manufactured April 1943 - June 1943. Unmarked blade front sight and “S” and “B-IP” two-leaf
rear sight, Underwood “9-43” barrel, “S’G’” flat top bolt, unmarked pushbutton safety, “P” marked magazine catch, machined “S’G’”
triggerguard, “S’G’” hammer, “SW-S’G’” sear, and “S’G’” slide. High wood stock with “RSG” two-rivet handguard, “KV-S’G’” Type I barrel band, and an oval oiler cut, with “S’G’” on the right side
of the stock near the “crossed cannons” and “SG” in the sling cut. Includes a tan web sling. FM/RE
CONDITION: Very fine, with 90% of the original parkerized finish, showing a plum tone to the barrel, some areas of gray patina on the receiver, and minor edge wear and handling marks overall. The
stock is also very fine, with some chipping around the trigger guard and recoil plates, and light dents and scuffs overall. Mechanically excellent.

Semi-Automatic Rifle with Scott Duff Signed Data Sheet - Serial no. 479957, 30-06
Springfield cal., 24 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. Receiver manufactured
in February 1942, two months after the United States’ forced entry into World War II, then subsequently
transferred to Britain as a part of the Lend-Lease Act, in which the United States shipped large amounts of supplies
and arms to support the beleaguered Allied European nations. Features a winged blade front with retained screw cap and ‘flush nut’
adjustable peep rear sight assembly, “2” marked Springfield Armory pattern narrow-base gas cylinder with chamfered lock and single-slot plug, arched profile
lower band with staked solid retaining pin, single-grove milled rear handguard clip, “S-A-1-42” barrel with British proofs and bright chamber, uncut “D35382 3 SA”
operating rod, “D28287-2SA/RE5A” bolt, “8” follower, short fork follower rod, and “D28290-5-SA” trigger housing with “C46008-2 SA” hammer, modified “C46015-
6SA” safety, and “J” marked milled trigger guard. Fitted with smooth oiled walnut handguards and stock bearing a boxed “S.A./G.H.S.” (Col. Gilbert H. Stewart)
inspection cartouche and large “ordnance wheel” stamp on the left of the wrist, along with a circled serif “P” firing proof on the grip. Includes a tan M1 ‘flat
buckle’ web sling. Also includes a numbers matching M1 Garand data sheet signed by noted author Scott A. Duff, dated November 5, 2007, which confirms the rifle’s current configuration
and notes bore measurements of “1.0” at the throat and muzzle.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original parkerized finish with minor edge wear, some minor spotting/brown patina showing, minor cycling wear, but otherwise limited minor handling
marks. The stock and furniture are exceptionally fine with scattered light dents and compression marks, along with an exceptionally crisp cartouche and large ordnance wheel stamp.
Mechanically excellent. It would take some effort to improve on a 1942 production and British Lend Lease proofed M1 rifle such as this example!
