Excellent World War II U.S. Colt Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic
Pistol with Holster Rig and M3 Fighting Knife - Serial
no. 1663010, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized
finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1944. Features
fixed blade front and notch rear sights, blued barrel
marked “S” and “COLT 45 AUTO” with “P” on the recoil
lug, the standard two-line, two-block Colt address
and patent date roll-marks with “rampant colt” in
the center on the left of the slide with “P” on top,
along with a checkered thumb safety, slide catch,
wide spur hammer, short stamped trigger,
and arched mainspring housing with lanyard
loop on the base. The left of the frame bears a
“G.H.D.” (Lt. Col. Guy H. Drewry) inspector mark
with “P”, along with “8” and “triangle/VP” on the
trigger guard. The right side of the frame bears an
“ordnance wheel” proof, the U.S. property marking,
serial number, and model designation, along with
“96” on the trigger guard. Fitted with a pair of
brown checkered plastic “Coltwood” grips numbered “6”
under each panel, along with a “S” and “C-S” marked full-
blue magazine. Includes a reproduction Kraft box, “U.S.”
and “S.F.CO. Inc./1942” marked OD green M1936 web pistol
belt, a “U.S.” embossed and “ENGER-KRESS” marked M1916
brown leather flap holster, “CASE” M3 fighting knife with “U.S. M6/
MILSCO/1943” leather scabbard, and four extra magazines.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original parkerized finish
with some minor edge wear, minor cycling wear, but otherwise
limited handling marks. The grips are also excellent with crisp
checkering. The holster rig and M3 fighting knife are very fine.

Desirable 1941 Production World War II U.S. Colt Model 1911A1 R.S. Inspected Semi-Automatic
Pistol - Serial no. 727875, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, plastic grips. Manufactured in 1941,
the Robert Sears inspected Colt Model 1911A1s marked the transition point from Colt’s high polish blue to
the Parkerization treatment that would become the standard for the rest of the war. Blade and flat top notch sights,
with the Rampant Colt bisected address and patents on the matching numbered slide, “RS.” stamped frame (both
on the left side and near the disconnector), “T/VP” and “69” on the trigger guard, short milled trigger, wide hammer,
checkered slide stop, thumb safety and mainspring housing, correct early style (hollow back) unreinforced grips,
unmarked two-tone magazine and a “COLT 45 AUTO”/small “G” marked full-blue barrel.
CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% plus original blue finish, with faint and thin takedown lines on the slide and frame,
minor spotting concentrated on the grip frame, and some light handling marks overall. The grips are also excellent,
with a few light dings. Mechanically excellent though the magazine spring is weak, and does not activate the
slide stop.
