Modern Thunder Valley Machine Company Gatling Gun with Tripod -
Serial no. 7487, 45-70 Government , 18 inch part hexagon bbl., blue/bright finish.
Manufactured by Mike Suchka of Thunder Valley Machine Company in Clinton, Ohio,
this is a factory quality reproduction Gatling gun. This example is configured for use
with left-hand clip feeding, constructed with ten barrels, a bronze housing, steel
frame rails, barrels and internals, bottom mounted safety, and a bronze handled
crank. “45 CAL. GOV.” marked on top of the left frame rail, number “7487” marked on
top of the right frame rail, Thunder Valley maker marking and address marked on
the right of the bronze housing with a reproduction Gatling patent plaque on top.
The tripod has a bronze yoke and integral elevation screw. Includes one sheet metal
clip containing 17 dummy cartridges.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% original blue finish with a few spots flaking to
smooth brown patina, and attractive golden patina on the bronze. Mechanically
excellent. Tripod is fine, retains 85% black painted finish.
