Framed Hand Colored “Old Time Lambing Camp Powder River” by L.A. Huffman - This beautifully hand colored print depicts a serene flock of
lamb and sheep in a meadow on the Powder River in Montana. Sheep and lambs can be seen grazing and resting well into the background where
a line of trees gives way to a magnificent lightly clouded sky. Images like this would have been a regular sight throughout the west as ranchers and
shepherds took their flocks to pasture. Water colors have been used by Huffman, giving a life and vibrancy to the image which is surrounded by tan
matting inside of a 21 1/8 inch by 15 5/8 inch wooden frame which has a tag on the rear for The Huffman Pictures store in Miles City. The lower edge
of the image is signed “Old Time Lambing Camp, Powder River on the left and “C L.A. HUFFMAN/MILES CITY, MONTANA” on the right.
CONDITION: Excellent overall with a vibrant image, and light storage and handling marks otherwise. The tag on the rear of the framing is partially
torn but otherwise legible with vibrant colors. This would make an excellent addition to any office or gun room!
