Special Order Colt Deluxe Medium Frame Slide Action Lightning Rifle -
Serial no. 24987, 38-40 WCF cal., 26 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, highly figured
checkered walnut pistol grip stock. Manufactured in 1887. Combination Beach front sight and
elevation adjustable rear sight on a barrel stamped with the two-line legend ahead of the rear sight
and “38 Cal.” at the breech. The left side of the receiver has the Rampant Colt trademark. Equipped with a special order
set trigger. The nicely figured deluxe walnut forearm and pistol grip stock feature multi-point checkering. The buttstock has a
blank initial oval and crescent buttplate.
CONDITION: Fine. The barrel and magazine tube retain 60% faded original blue finish with brown patina on the balance. The
casehardened receiver has mostly faded to a silver-gray. The buttplate has a smooth brown-gray patina. The wood is also fine
with a number of minor dings, scratches and some blemishes in the overall crisp checkering.
Mechanically excellent.

Desirable Two Digit Serial Number B. Kittredge Arms Company Shipped Colt Large Frame “Express Model” Lightning Slide Action Rifle with
Factory Letter - Serial no. 62, 40-60-260 cal., 28 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. The included factory letter confirms the current barrel length
and configuration, caliber, blue finish, and stock material when it was shipped to B. Kittredge Arms Company of Cincinnati, OH, on June 1st during
the first year of production (possibly even the first day) for these Large Frame Rifles, 1887. Only 1,000 rifles were manufactured in the first year of
production. The rifle features a full length magazine, crescent buttplate, elevation adjustable sporting rear sight and blade front sight. The receiver
has the Rampant Colt emblem on the left side. It is fitted with a smooth straight wrist stock and multi-point checkered forearm. The top of the barrel
is marked with the two-line address and patent dates ahead of the rear sight and “40-60-260” below the rear sight on the left.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 50% original blue finish, some areas of pitting along the barrel and frame, and some scratching. The reoiled buttstock is
very good with scattered light scratches, a crack at the left toe, and sharp checkering on the modified forend with two finger grooves added to the
right side. Mechanically excellent.

Massive Wood Carved Double Barrel Shotgun Hanging Gun Shop Advertising
Piece - Offered here is a massive wood carved hanging advertising piece that
represents a detailed side by side hammer shotgun, measuring approximately 93
inches (7 3/4 feet) long and finished with a mixture of black, brown, and gold enamel,
with metal hanging hooks on top. The consignor indicated that this large shotgun was
once hanging in Iver Johnson’s walk-in gun shop.
CONDITION: Very good, retains much of the multi-layered applied painted
finishes showing scattered flaking, and moderate wear. This massive
double barrel shotgun advertising piece would make a fantastic eye-
catching hanging display piece in an office, gun room or gun shop!
