LOT 151
Miniature Police Model 1893 Gatling Gun in .22 Caliber with Tripod -
Serial no. 14, 22 cal., 6 inch cluster bbl., bright finish. Likely one of the scale
functioning models made by Karl Furr in the 1970s, though it is not maker
marked. This is a 1/3 scale functional copy of the Colt/Gatling Police Model
1893. An evolution of Richard Gatling’s original 1862 design, the 1893 Gatling
integrates a full brass housing from the barrel group, which protects the
mechanism from debris, sea spray, and other hazards,
as well as the Accles pattern magazine, a donut-shaped
drum with on-board drive rotor, which allows for higher
and more consistent rates of fire than the gravity-fed
magazines of earlier models. The top of the body bears
a nearly exact replication of the original Colt/Gatling
markings. The gun is installed on a folding brass tripod.
Matching exterior numbers
are present throughout.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, showing a fine aged color
on most of the brass with minor handling evidence and
crisp markings. Mechanically excellent.
Estimate: 7,500 - 12,000
LOT 150

main body marked “Made By/Karl J. Furr & Paul J. Kuhni/Oren,
Ut, Dec. 1977.” The top of the body is fitted with a miniature
Colt Gatling gun plaque. Includes a scaled down brass
Broadwell type magazine. The major components and most
of the small parts are stamped with the serial number “37”.

transom and elevation adjustment, storage compartment for
extra small parts. Carriage measures 18 inches high at the
wheels, 24 inches wide across the axle, and approximately 27
