Very Attractive Deep Relief Carved Antique
Ivory Powder Flask with Gilt Mounts - This
flask likely dates to the 16th or 17th century.
It features a deep relief carved antique ivory
body with extensive scroll, foliate, martial,
and classical motifs along with a coronet and
“JA” cipher on one side and a coronet over an
escutcheon with three fleurs-de-lis and a bust of
a gentleman on the other side. The iron mounts
have gilding, scrollwork, masks, and fluting. The
flask is fitted with a tasseled cord.
CONDITION: Very fine overall with aged tones
and distinct carving on the body, most of the
lightly aged gilding remaining, dark patina on
the iron, and fairly minor age related wear.

Small Scale Wheellock Sporting Gun with Scrimshaw Inlays - NSN, 45 cal., 25 inch part octagon bbl., bright
finish, wood stock. The smoothbore barrel has an “E” and an “eagle” stamped ahead of the notch rear sight on the ribbed breech
section. The lock has another small “E” mark below the safety, an external wheel, and brass accented wheel cover. The stock has staghorn/bone
inlays with scrimshaw designs, including deer, masks, and stars.
CONDITION: Fine overall with silver gray patina, minor oxidation/pitting, and general mild age and storage related wear. The stock is also fine and has repairs
visible at the toe, a crack at the breech on the left, some small chips, and mild overall wear. Not mechanically tested.
