LOT 423
Late World War II German Berlin-
Lubecker “qve 45” Code K43 Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 3955f,
7.92 mm Mauser cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue/phosphate finish, laminate stock.
Manufactured late World War II in 1945 by Berlin-Lubecker on a rough forged receiver with “K 43” model
designation and “qve 45” manufacturer code and date markings on the left. Blade front sight and military tangent rear sight
graduated from 1-12. Both the receiver and bolt carrier are forged and machined, with a catch on the right side of the bolt carrier
with hollow cocking knob. Smooth pistol grip laminated stock with a few “eagle/swastika/WaA214” Waffenamt stamps, and a
cupped steel trapdoor buttplate. Of interesting note, the receiver of this rifle is numbered “3955f”, and the
bolt carrier, bolt and stock are all numbered one away with “3954f” as a likely factory error. Fitted with an
“aye” code “K43” marked magazine with “eagle/WaA843” Waffenamt stamp. Includes a leather sling.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% plus original combination late war blue/phosphate finish with scattered
areas of spotting/freckling and some typical late war rough cast areas. Magazine retains 30% original black
painted finish. Stock is also very fine, with some light handling marks and legible stamps.
Mechanically excellent.
Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500
LOT 422
World War II German Mauser Model 98 High Turret
Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Scope - Serial no. 5903c, 7.92 mm Mauser cal.,
24 inch round bbl., blue finish, laminate stock. Manufactured c. 1940-1945. This is a solid representative
example of a genuine World War II German high turret sniper rifle that was manufactured by the Mauser factory
and fitted with an original Kahles 4x90 sniper scope with matching numbered ring assembly. Deployed relatively early in World War II, while
on paper the High Turret Sniper was rendered obsolete by the easier to make Long Rail and Short Rail Snipers, the High Turret Sniper was
a robust and effective sharpshooting platform that never fully left military service during World War II. Hooded blade front and tangent
rear sights, with a set of turret mounts installed on the “eagle/135” and “Mod.98” marked Mauser receiver. The matching numbered bolt has
been fitted with a renumbered to match trimmed down safety switch and cocking piece, with a “cad” marked Kahles 4x scope numbered
“44566” on the left of the dial, with a renumbered to match front ring marked “5903c” and the rear mount marked with an “eagle/135” proof.
Stamped barrel bands, “byf” code trigger guard and floorplate, with a laminated stock with matching numbered handguard, cupped bright
steel buttplate, and a brown leather sling.
CONDITION: Very fine, with 80% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, spotting and handling marks. Stock is fine, with
minor scuffs and dings. Mechanically excellent. Scope is very fine with mild external wear, and optics are a bit hazy with a crisp reticle.
Estimate: 10,000 - 15,000
