It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to Rock Island Auction
Company’s May 2025 Premier Firearms Auction - an event that will
undoubtedly stand as one of the most spectacular in our company’s
storied history. The collections we are honored to present this spring
represent the pinnacle of fine and historic arms collecting, including
pieces from Robert M. Lee, Brig and Louise Pemberton, Dr. Nick
Shannon, Charlie Marx, Greg Lampe, Andrew Singer, Mac McCroskie,
Norman Blank and Cam and Deb Cooper, to name just a few.
We’ve been eagerly anticipating this auction. As we’ve watched it
come together, we knew it was going to be something special. In this
business, you are only as good as the auction you are working on.
Once that sale is over, you are only as good as your next one. RIAC
has hosted all ten of the top
ten highest-grossing firearms
auctions ever held, so it’s
difficult to claim this is the best
auction we’ve ever assembled.
What I will say is that it is an
amazing assembly of some of
the finest guns on the planet,
from some of the biggest
names in the industry. As far as
"gun auctions" go, you won’t
see a more complete sale.
It’s a monumental event. The
weekend will be an exhilarating
celebration of history and
collecting - truly the best
culture has to offer.
Speaking of celebrations, we
hope 2025 is off to a great start
for you and yours. My wife and I
have had much to celebrate early on this year. Wayne
Chester Hogan couldn’t wait any longer than January
2nd (a full 30 days early) to meet his older brother and
sister. He has been an absolute joy, and mom and dad
are feeling incredibly blessed and fortunate.
Lastly, to the best team in the business, I just want to
say thank you. Another 1,350+ page, three-volume,
magnificent catalog. Thank you for the long
hours and determination. Most importantly, as
always, thank you for the grit.
To our consignors, thank you for the
opportunity to represent you, your
objects, your collections, your loved
ones, and your legacy.
We look forward to seeing everyone
in May. It’s one of those special,
"Where were you?" collection-
defining sales. It’s also going to be a
lot of fun. See you in May.
