lightly colorized print
by legendary Western
photographer L. A.
Huffman measures 8 x 10
inches. It features a flock
of sheep and a riderless
horse grazing amongst
rolling hills. The bottom
right is marked with the
Huffman copyright, and
the bottom center left
is marked “Hot Sheep
‘Powder River’”, both in
white ink. Laton Alton
Huffman (1854-1931)
was among the few
photographers to capture
the landscape, Native
Americans, wildlife, and
ranching life in Montana
in the late 19th and early
20th centuries. Later
in his career, Huffman
enlarged and colorized
many of his original
photographs. Includes a
certificate of authenticity
from Coffrin’s Old
West Gallery.
CONDITION: Excellent,
the print showing distinct
image and attractive
color with exceptionally
minimal handling/
storage wear overall. An
attractive print by one of
the West’s most desirable
photographers!
