“B. & W.” Signed, Silver
Inlaid, and Engraved Flintlock Kentucky
Pistol - Serial no. 3, 40 cal., 7 5/8 inch part
octagon bbl., antique finish, curly maple stock.
Manufactured c. late 20th century. The rifled
barrel is signed “B.&W.” on top and “3” on the
left at the breech and has a blade front sight,
brass notch rear sight, and light engraved
accents. The brass mounts also have scroll
engraving. The curly maple stock
has twelve silver inlays.
CONDITION: Very fine with gray and brown
patina, light original case colors, aged patina on the brass and
silver, minor oxidation, re-surfaced frizzen, light small flake
coming loose at the rear of the lock mortise, brazed repair at the
rear trigger guard tang screw, and minor
overall wear. Mechanically fine.

Contemporary Flintlock Kentucky Pistol - NSN, 40 cal., 9
1/8 inch octagon bbl., brown finish, curly maple stock. 20th
century copy of a Kentucky pistol with no identifying markings.
Features traditional blade and notch sights, German silver pin
escutcheons, brass mounts, and a very
attractive curly maple stock.
CONDITION: Very good with most of the original “antiqued”
brown finish remaining, minor oxidation, aged patina on the
mounts, two filled cracks in the underside of the stock, and
generally minor wear. Mechanically fine.

Alvin A. White Signed, Master Engraved, Gold Banded, and Silver Mounted
Contemporary Percussion Kentucky Pistol - Serial no. 16, 40 cal., 7 7/8 inch part octagon bbl., antiqued/
gold/silver finish, curly maple stock. The barrel of this pistol is signed “A.A.W.” for Master Engraver Alvin A. White, one of the most talented
American arms engravers in the 20th century. While best known for engraved Colt revolvers, White also had a personal interest in traditional
muzzleloading firearms and produced a small number of high quality flintlock and percussion pistols and long guns. This one is
inscribed “No. 16” on the left at the breech. The rifled barrel has stars and dots around the muzzle, a blade front sight, pairs of gold inlaid bands
at the transition and breech, and scroll engraving on the breech end. A notch rear sight is fitted on the engraved barrel tang. The silver
wrist escutcheon is inscribed with the initials “J.A.E.” The lock and most of the silver and brass mounts are engraved. The left stock flat
includes a silver spread wing bald eagle. The brass pommel cap is shaped like a heart. The stock
is nicely figured curly maple.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with crisp engraving and
signature, most of the antiqued brown finish remaining on the
barrel, aged patina on the silver and brass mounts, and minor age
and handling related wear. Mechanically fine.

Attractive Engraved and Silver Inlaid Contemporary Ohio Half-Stock
Percussion Rifle by Don King in 1976 - NSN, 32 cal., 34 inch octagon bbl.,
brown/blue/bright finish, curly maple stock. This rifle is similar to the work of the Vincent
family in Ohio and was built in 1976 by U.S. Marine Corps veteran and award winning gunmaker Don King
(1930-2018). The rifle’s straight octagonal barrel is signed “For L.D.H. 76 By Don King” (recipient’s initials and the year in
a silver panel) and has dovetailed blade and notch sights, a “SCHILLINGER” lock with scroll engraving, pewter forend cap,
engraved silver escutcheons
and inlays including
an “H” inscribed wrist
escutcheon, double set
triggers, spurred brass trigger guard, engraved brass patchbox with pierced finial and silver wire inlays,
and a highly figured and beautifully shaped curly maple half-stock.
CONDITION: Excellent as custom made overall with 95% plus original finish, attractively aged patina on the silver inlays
and brass mounts, some minor handling marks and scratches, crisp engraving and markings, and beautiful figure on the stock. Mechanically excellent.
