Scarce Colt Paterson Belt Model
Combination Powder and Ball Flask -
Colt’s short lived Patent Arms Manufacturing
Co. manufactured revolving arms and
accoutrements c. 1837-1842. This Belt Model
flask measures approximately 1.33 inches
wide by 5.3 inches long from the base to the
spouts. The ball openings measure .34 inches.
The central band is inscribed “Patent Arms
M’g. Co. Paterson, N:J.-Colt’s Pt.~” The charger
rings are serrated. The ball compartment has
a wood insert. The powder flask section has a
sliding cover on the rear.
CONDITION: Very good overall with
attractively aged patina on the exposed
brass, lightly worn but clearly legible
inscription, and generally only minor age
and storage related wear. An absolute must
for your Belt Model Paterson!

CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with 80% plus bright original blue finish, 50%
original case colors, minor spots of oxidation, distinct markings, and fairly minor
age and storage related wear. The grip is very fine and has most of the finish
and displays minor marks and scratches and slight handling wear. Mechanically
fine. The case and accessories are very good with minor wear. Overall, this is a
very attractive example of the scarce Ehlers 4th Model “Baby Paterson” revolver.
