DLO M58 Belt Fed Machine Gun, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable
Machine Gun - Serial no. 80M58001, 7.62 mm cal., 22 inch round
bbl., matte black/anodized finish, synthetic stock. Manufactured
using a new made and registered sideplate from Douglas Oefinger of
Stamford, Connecticut with a combination of commercial production and military surplus
components, this is an American made fully transferable example of the FN MAG/U.S.
M240 machine gun. Developed starting in the late 1940s and released in the 1950s, the
MAG (Mitrailleuse d’Appui General, General Purpose Machine Gun) combined tried and
tested features from successful World War II automatic weapons into a versatile and reliable
multi-purpose weapon. Adopted by numerous countries, the MAG and its licensed and unlicensed copies remain
mainstay weapons around the world. This DLO has been outfitted in the style of the U.S. M240B, which replaced the
M60 in service in the 1990s. Blade front and folding ladder peep rear sights, with a birdcage flash hider, plastic upper
handguard and swiveling carry handle on the barrel, folding bipod and aluminum handguard with two sections of
picatinny rail on the gas cylinder, Ohio Ordnance Works top cover with integral rail, checkered pistol grip panels, and a
synthetic buttstock with a steel buttplate.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, with 97% plus refurbished matte black/anodized finish, showing rust/spotting, especially
around the muzzle, gas system and in the interior, along with mild wear and handling marks overall. A pair of cracks are
forming in the top cover near the hinge pin. Minor scratches are present on the furniture. Mechanically excellent. NOTE:
This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 479.
