Huey Cased Set of Two Spanish Charola y Anitua Semi-Automatic Pistols with Pearl Grips and
Accessories - Serial no. H1685, 5 mm cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, pearl grips. Introduced c.1897-1898, the Charola y Anitua pistol was
a contemporary to the Mauser Broomhandle pistol, while also bearing a strong mechanical and aesthetic resemblance to the Broomhandle,
with a clip-loaded internal magazine positioned ahead of the triggerguard, short recoil action with a spring driven bolt, and a frame mounted
hammer. Approximately 900 were made in this configuration, with a set of fixed sights, “I. CHAROLA - EIBAR CAL. 5 m/m” on top of the barrel,
and a “Ch.y.A.” winged bullet trademark on the left side of the frame. Fine engraved zig-zag borders and scroll accents are present on the sides
of the frame, with niter blue small parts and smooth pearl grips. Both the A and B pistol fit in the included Huey Custom hardwood case, which
also contains three screwdrivers, a cleaning rod with extension, and a pair of oil containers.
CONDITION: Very good, 75% of the refinished blue finish, with areas of brown patina, edge
wear, pitting concentrated underneath the grip panels, and mild handling marks overall. Some
chipping is present at the rear of the barrel extension, concealed by the frame when the bolt is
in battery. Over 80% of the refurbished niter blue is present on the small parts, and the grips are
very good, with minor edge chips. Mechanically
needs adjustment. The case is excellent, with
minor handling marks. B) Charola y Anitua
Semi-Automatic Pistol - NSN, 5 mm cal., 3 3/4
inch round bbl., nickel finish, pearl grips. Marked,
configured and decorated as A, in the same case.
CONDITION: Very fine, 85% plus original nickel
finish, showing some spotting, scratches and areas
of wear to bare steel with a gray patina. The barrel
extension is cracked on the left side, running
through the ejector port. Grips are very good, with
some chipping. Mechanically needs adjustment.

Rare Marius Berger Double
Action Magazine Pistol with
Custom “Book” Case - Serial
no. 30, 8 mm cal., 3 7/8 inch
part octagon bbl., blue/nickel/
casehardened finish, hardwood
grips. Developed in the 1880s,
Marius Berger’s repeating pistol shares
features with the Volcanic lever action pistol as well as the Remington-Rider Magazine Pistol,
while also showing similarities to the Remington Rolling Block and European military revolvers of the mid to late 19th century. Loading is
accomplished via an under-barrel magazine tube, with a rotating plunger housing which doubles as a full-length loading gate, opening up
the entire side for inserting cartridges. The left side plate is hinged and swings open to reveal the internals, with an elevator assembly and
breechblock similar to the Rider, and a hammer which interlocks with the breechblock on discharge for increased stability like the Rolling Block.
A long ring trigger operates the whole mechanism. Fitted with a tall blade front sight on a barrel with the serial number and St. Etienne proof stamp followed
by “ST. ETIENNE.” The side plate and left grip panel are also numbered to the gun. Blued barrel, nickel plated magazine tube, and casehardened frame. Includes a
custom fitted “book” case for the pistol which is titled “Nordisk Familjebok” (Swedish encyclopedia).
CONDITION: Very fine. The barrel retains 95% original blue finish turning to a plum. The magazine tube retains 90% original nickel finish. The frame retains 95% vivid
original case colors. The grips are very good with a noticeable chip visible on the lower left forward panel, some scattered handling marks, and edge wear. Mechanically fine.
The custom made case is fine.
