Cased Pair of Rare Nickel Colt Model 1862 Pocket Navy
Black Powder Series Percussion Revolvers with Ivory
Grips, Boxes and Factory Letters -A) Colt Model 1862
Pocket Navy Revolver - Serial no. 48068, 36 cal., 5 1/2
inch octagon bbl., nickel finish, ivory grips. Both of these revolvers are one of the just 25
built in this finish and grip material manufactured by Colt in 1984 according to page 22
of Dennis Adler’s book “Black Powder Revolvers-Reproductions & Replicas”. The included
factory letters, one for each revolver, confirm the current configurations, including grip
material, and states the revolvers were shipped to Aeromarine of Birmingham, Alabama,
on October 22, 1984, as part of a 22 gun shipment. Each revolver has its own original
plain cardboard box featuring Colt Custom Gun Shop label listing the revolvers as 8 of
25 and 14 of 25 respectively, as well a black Colt hardwood presentation style case that
houses both revolvers.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original nickel finish with minor handling
evidence. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good and the case is very fine. B) Colt
Model 1862 Pocket Navy Revolver - Serial no. 49021,
36 cal., 5 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, ivory grips.
As described in “A”.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99%
original nickel finish with minor handling evidence.
Mechanically excellent. The box is very good.

cal., 8 inch round bbl., stainless finish,
walnut grips. This is 1 of 1,596 Colt
1860 Army revolvers manufactured in
stainless steel according to page 21 of
Dennis Adler’s “Black Powder Revolvers
- Reproductions and Replicas”. Includes
a hardwood case containing shoulder
stock, bullet mold, Eley Brothers cap
tin, powder flask, and an “L” shaped
combination tool, and the original
factory box.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, showing
only minor handling evidence.
Mechanically excellent. The case and
box are very good and the accessories
are excellent.

29248S, 36 cal., 7 1/2 inch octagon bbl., stainless
finish, walnut grips. Manufactured only in 1982
with a total of just 490 units produced according to
page 19 of Dennis Adler’s “Black Powder Revolvers
- Reproductions & Replicas”. Includes a Colt
hardwood case containing a powder flask, “L” shaped
combination tool, Eley Brothers cap tin, and brass
bullet mold.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine overall, showing minor
handling evidence and a patch of pitting on the hammer.
Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with some
storage type wear and scratches.
