CONDITION: Very fine with crisp engraving, 75% of the nickel plating remaining, flashes of
vibrant case colors on the sides of the hammer, mostly silver-gray patina on the balance, mild
wear, and mild overall wear. The grip is also very fine and has distinct carving, attractive naturally
aged patina and grain, and minor age lines. Mechanically excellent. This is a very attractive
example of a fairly early production Colt Single Action Army with highly desirable carved ivory
grip and beautiful engraving by the shop of Master Engraver L. D. Nimschke.
Provenance: The Nick Shannon Collection.
Estimate: 35,000 - 55,000
