Chiseled and Engraved Single Barrel Flintlock Sporting Gun by
Georg Entzinger of Vienna - NSN, 60 gauge, 40 3/4 inch round bbl., bright finish,
rootwood stock. This late 17th century flintlock sporting gun features a smoothbore
barrel with a blade front sight, sighting flat, and elaborately chiseled breech section featuring a
variety of mythical creatures, masks, and scrollwork. The tang is a later replacement with scroll engraving.
The lock is signed “GEORG ENTZINGER” around the priming pan and has a wyvern and mix of engraved and raise
relief scroll patterns. The iron mounts are mostly plain though the buttplate features a long pointed finial. The rootwood
stock is intensely figured, and an old “#46” marked inventory tag is at the toe. Georg Entzinger
of Vienna is listed c. 1639-1684 in “Der Neue Stockel” by Heer. Tags from the Norman R.
Blank Collection indicate the gun came from the gun room of Graf Zamberg
and notes it as featured in “Die Wiener Buchsenmacher und
Buchsenschafter” by Schedelman on page 73.
CONDITION: Fine with 80% plus blue finish remaining on the
barrel, crisp chiseling and engraving, mostly bright furniture,
minor oxidation, and general mild wear. The stock is good
with some cracks and spliced repairs. Mechanically functions.

Engraved Wilson Brass Barrel Flintlock Blunderbuss - NSN, 8 gauge, 15 3/4 inch round bbl., brass/
bright finish, walnut stock. Manufactured c. 1740s -1760s. The multi-stage barrel has a fairly straight bore
that is estimated at around 8 bore for most of its length and measures 1 1/4 inches at the muzzle. The
barrel is marked “LONDON” on top and has London proof marks flanking Wilson’s “*/RW” maker’s mark
on the left. The rounded lock is signed “WILSON”, and the metal features some simple engraving. The
walnut stock has a military style design, including the plateau at the barrel tang. The wooden ramrod
has a horn tip and iron worm.
CONDITION: Very good with attractively aged patina on the barrel and mounts, dark brown patina on
the lock, broken jaw stem, distinct engraving, and general mild overall wear. The refinished stock is also
very good with some repairs, chips, and general mild wear. Mechanically functions.

Ornate Antique Sporting Crossbow with Engraved Stock
Inlays - The consignor dated this crossbow to the 18th
century. It features extensive stock inlays engraved with various
designs including floral blooms and animals and is equipped with an
iron trigger guard and double set triggers.
CONDITION: Very good with dark brown patina on the limbs, some
absent components and bone inlays, generally distinct engraving,
and moderate wear.
